I'm proper nervous going into this fixture - it's must-must-must win. Then we can go to Rochdale with a little bit more confidence which will hopefully continue until the end of the season.

But Shrewsbury's form is worrying.

C'MON SWINDON!

despite bossing the entire 2nd half, it was still a nervy win, and i'm almost 100% sure that shrewsbury's effort at the end crossed the line... phil smith caught it, then had to stretch his arms forward to place the ball on the goal line.

corr looks to have settled in well, hope we can sign him permanently.

Its all about points now and the 6 points in the last 2 games has turned us from looking destined for the playoffs to leaving it in our own hands for an automatic spot. Long way to go yet though!

First half was just boring. Second half we camped out in their half of the pitch. Typical Swindon though, nervy last ten minutes.

No one stood out as MOTM today.

Oh, and the ball was over the line, it should have been 2-2.

No stand out player, MOTM for me was probably Ifil or Barry Corr.

Lukas, Zaboub (bar the Roberts cross) and our central midfielders were absolutely appalling which is a concern as it was those who were excellent against Lincoln. Consistancy please!

To be honest, Sam, I was in line with it in the NW and I thought he was on ... our lot pushed up in a feeble Arsenal-esque attempt to catch him off and it didn't work.

Shrews manager got it all wrong by taking Leo Fortune-West off - Cheers for that!

 :D

Poor old Mr Fortune West wasn't very happy on the bench as the Shrews conceded the first.  Cannot for the life of me figure out why their manager thought of taking him off.  Ok so they weren't threatening up front but he was doing a good job at the back.  How many corners did he clear?

On reflection a good win, first half was 50/50 didn't realise the impact the wind was having until we played with it behind our backs.

One request, please town end stop the wanker chant, every time they single out a player for the wanker treatment the player plays well.

Good entertaining game this arvo, well happy with the points.

Anyone see the trouble before the game?

Swindon fan got a smack from a Shrewbury lad as he was coming out of the Winners. That's why the OB were there after the game.

The only trouble I saw was in the winners.  The trouble was getting a fucking pint, that queuing system's a joke.  I will not be going there pre match until they sort it out.

they also score in the Town End goal as well....

So if the Town End do want to chant wanker, wanker, wanker at someone....chant it at our strikers so THEY score.

also, onside.

Clear handball leading up to the Shrews goal, but the ref didn't see it or had them down on his coupon.

Good display 2nd half and a good atmosphere in the Town End for the change.

Nobody was going to shine in those conditions - sorry to roll out a Atkinson-esque cliche, but it was whoever dealt with the conditions best, and it was us - they were better 1st half, but we were more so in th second. Thats where Peacock, Lukas and Corr help out. Lukas wasn't great today, but he did his usual of shielding the ball and holding it up when required - we just didn't see the nice touches of last week.

Ifil and Vincent were solid - so was Jack Smith. Pook surprised me, some decent challenges (but he'll always be pook and I'd still pick Timlin) - Peacock was busy, and tidy on the ball.

One of those games we could easily have come away from content with a point - it's a bonus win and could be a bloody important one.

Good win, especially considering the Shrews' form

As for the match report on the OS, piss poor. Difficult to read with words missing and unpunctuated sentences the length of a paragraph!

Ah well I got the jist of it and it sounds like we did okay. Another three points, and back up to 3rd. Good day all round!

They shaded the first half, we pissed the second half, untill we went in front were it all looked dodgy again. Pook, to his credit, was probably my MOTM. Hassled and made some good tackles, and did a good little dribble in the lead up to our second goal.

And there goal WAS onside. Even i could tell that from the TE.

Saw the bloke being led off with a broken nose (having allegedly been headbutted by a Shrewsbury fan), and a couple of very worried-looking kids as a result.  From what I could tell, some of their fans were upset at not being allowed into the Winners and started looking for trouble because of this.

Didn't see it myself but Ken who sits next to me did - off-ball incident, punched their lad as they were headed back up the pitch after the 22-man handbags, so lucky to only get a yellow.

However, Barry Corr's close-range stab and Christian Roberts' header, both from Sofiene Zaaboub corners, turned the result around for the Robins.

Did they? I know the first did, but didn't the second come from a tackle from Pook followed by a Zaboob cross? My memory is getting hazy in my old age.[/b]

Pook played well, I was quite impressed with him yesterday - still a few shockingly misplaced passes though.

Sofi had a quietish game, not helped by the fact the Shrewsbury right-back was bashing him about.

The "wanker" chant at LFW was because he appeared to flatten Smith when Smith was letting the ball go out of play for a goal kick (and LFW was nowhere near the ball). I say appeared, someone was blocking my view at the moment "it" happened, but when I stood up I saw Smith sprawled on his arse and lots of angry gestures at the ref/LFW.
