I've been fed up of peole saying "PS3 is shit" "its to expensive"(agreed) "its not even selling any" and to that last statement, i give you this, figures

PlayStation breaks sales records  
 
PS3 165,000 in first 2 days
Wii 105,000           "
Xbox 71,000          "


I cant wait for mine, might pick it up from the states when im over there.

and where did you get those figures from exactly?

Last I checked Wii was outselling the other two in the US

Sony always sell more here because people seem to be up their arses. people need to try the Xbox! it isn't bad at all and i think the die hard Sony fans would be quite shocked. doesn't mean to say one console is better than the other. i suppose it is down to preference....if you like the Playstation you buy it! or the 360 or the Wii or whatever

I don't own shares in any of the 3 companies so it really doesn't bother me if the PS3 sell's 6 times the amount that the Wii or xbox360.

I won a playstation 3 today....oh and a 32" sony tv....oh and a dvd recorder...

Do you know for certain that a US PS3 will work in the UK with UK games ? We've had a thread about this before and the conclusion was that it probably won't but noone knew.

Bugger! PS3 here is $599 which, plus tax, is about 350ukp. Now Mrs NMH tells me the kids want a Wii ! Will a US wone work in the UK Mr Spuddy ?

I've got a vague memory of nintendo saying it was going to be region-free and then changing their minds. I'd check a more recent article If you can find one. Someone else on here will probably know in the morning, I'm far from from certain.

PS3 is defo region free, i have done my research.

I can pick one up from best buy for around 300 quid

ps3 isn't the biggest seller as the wii was and still is. i work part time in toys r us and we sold 8 on the launch date (when having 30 to sell) and when the wii was launched we had customers queing out of the car park. the ps3 is a fantastic console but lets be honest, who has £400-£500 lying around?? the wii wins it for me

Wii definately isn't region free, which is a shame! PS3 is region free for games but not for Blu-Ray or DVD movies

Microsoft made 71,000 Xbox 360's available for launch and they all sold.
Nintendo made 105,000 Wii's available for launch and they all sold.

Sony may have shifted 165,000 PS3's but many more still sit on shop shelves up and down the country.

Worringly for Sony are the latest sales figures from the USA (February 2007):

DS: 485,000

Wii: 335,000

PS2: 295,000

360: 228,000

PSP: 176,000

GBA: 136,000

PS3: 127,000

I went into Comet the other day and even they had a fair few PS3's for sale, the fact is the console itself is too expensive.

Agreed. When you consider a PS2 was only roughly £350 brand new the PS3 is a rip-off (although I still want one  :mrgreen: )

I'm loving my new 360, don't see the point in investing in a PS3 unless you have a decent HD tely - then you have to buy the appropriate wires as well.

Then again I'm always behind the times.

$599 plus tax @ 1.96 is more like 350 ukp.

The funny thing is Sony's official HDMI cable is selling for roughly £20, a bloke at work went to pick his up and Sony hadn't sent any to them, he told them that it wasn't his problem so he ended up getting a diferent one that was in Currys for £30 without having to pay the extra £10.

Nintendo Wii's in stock....be quick though.

This is according to some Wii site:-

When you toss the ball up to serve you need to hit it when its at the very top of the toss up. If done correctly the ball will go to the other players really fast and have a blur which indicates the fast / super serve.
