Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Thursday, March 29, 2007, 20:49:37 I'm off up to the afore mentioned Jock Land first thing in the morning for a week and a bit.
I've got tickets for the Edinburgh derby on Sunday (in the Hearts end) and I will also mooch along to the Dundee Utd v Celtic game on Saturday and will no doubt take in various other games while I'm up there. I'll be taking my tranny (radio that is  ) and will of course be expecting nothing less than 9 points from Shrews, Dale and Hereford 8) Laters loosers 8) Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: blinkpip on Thursday, March 29, 2007, 21:02:02 I'm off to jock land in May. Apart from that, I got nothing else to say on the matter.

Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: Amir on Thursday, March 29, 2007, 21:18:11 The Scottish try and make out how much they hate the English, but it's all hot air. If you meet someone and you're civil with them they're much like the Welsh, salt of the earth
Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, March 29, 2007, 21:29:27 Don't forget to seek out a deep fried Mars Bar.
I was in Mr Cod last Friday, and was surprised to see myself stood next to a local celebrity of Caledonian extraction...convinced he'd order a deep fried Mars bar, I was a bit upset that it was Haddock, gesticulated the size of a Billy Bowden wide signal, or the size of a Mike Bowden head...neither vendor or purchaser could understand each other... large chips, bread and butter, mushy peas and cup of tea. Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: Forza_Swindon on Friday, March 30, 2007, 11:52:04 I went to Edinburgh last weekend and was surprised at how much I liked it there (although it was good weather, that may have made a difference).
Lots of nutters about though. Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: Dazzza on Friday, March 30, 2007, 12:14:14 Try some of their eggs, all covered in breadcrumbs and meat. Interbreeding with Chickens, Scotch have been at it for years.
I’m sure I also read that Edinburgh is now the aids capital of Europe? Aside from the eggs and the gingers I’d recommend the smack. First rate up there. Talking of Scotchland anyone see that Wedding Bells last night on C4 by Irvine Welsh? The Scots love to see the English struggle IN SPORT, but on the whole person to person they can be as friendly as can be. Of course there are one or two nutters who'd love to give you a Glasgow kiss! Forget the battered mars bars tho, battered haggis is the way forward, a nice haggis supper's just what you need before a night on the town!! Also try a few pints of the local 70/- and 80/- !! Lovely stuff. Enjoy your weekend, apart from the footie you jambo wannabe!! Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: Spud on Friday, March 30, 2007, 14:48:49 Like jan the man said they hate us in anything sports related but when you go up their they're as friendly as anything.
Although i haven't been back up to Edinburgh or Scotland in general for a good 12 years or so. The wee team are parading the Mickey Mouse award after the game so hopefully Kaunas reserves have given them a stuffing! I'll be watching in the boozer with Luxembourg Hearts! :soapy tit wank: Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: Bob's Orange on Sunday, April 1, 2007, 15:17:29 1-0 to the Hearts!! :beers:
Utter drivel of a game but a win from a Hobo gk mistake is always nice. 'The Hearts are having a party, the Hearts are having a party, the Hearts are having a party, the Hibs are in the bins!!' Hope you enjoyed the celebrations at the end OST? Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: OOH! 'The Hearts are having a party, the Hearts are having a party, the Hearts are having a party, the Hibs are in the bins!!' Hope you enjoyed the celebrations at the end OST? Hibs v Hearts was top drawer. Hearts got slated a bit in the Jock press for mounting a bit of a 'smash and grab job' but from where I was sitting/standing (in the Hearts end) they definitely deserved the win. Hibs play an open, expansive, passing game and Hearts stopped them and created more chances in the process. The atmosphere was excellent, especially when they played 'Sunshine on Leith' about 5 minutes before the teams came out. In it's way, it's as good as 'You'll Never Walk Alone' at Celtic or Liverpool IMO. The Hearts fans were singing their own song at the same time (God knows what it was) but it all added to the atmosphere. I can't think of the last time I came out of a game and my ears were literally ringing, it was that noisy. We also went to Dundee United v Celtic the day before which was a crackerjack of a game. Celtic went ahead with a Nakamura special and United got a deserved equaliser in injury time despite having Barry Robson sent off for a elbow/kick/headbutt combo on Lee Naylor. Meanwhile, I had no choice but to purchase a 'Paul Sturrock retro shirt' from the club shop. Sadly I will not be able to wear it in public until I have shed a few pounds - It's a bit of a snug fit  On Saturday just gone, we went to Aberdeen v Dundee United which was just mental - 5 goals in the opening 17 minutes. It ended up 2-4. The stand at one end is HUGE. It has to be almost as big at the old Kippax stand at Maine Road. Anywho, I will be a bit less disparaging about the SPL in future. As far as I'm concerned, I saw three very different, but all top notch games for about half the price of the Premiership. Oh yes, we also managed to fit in games at St Johnstone and Forfar but that's another story! Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, April 9, 2007, 19:31:52 Quote from: "OOH! Glad you enjoyed it OST, the atmosphere at the derby game is usually very good and usually tense as the two sets of fans despise each other. Title: Off up to Jock Land Post by: OOH!
