Bob Holt stated that an offer has been received from the Consortium and that negotiations would continue along with discussions with another party as well (words to that effect anyway!)

I am sure we will see a "statement" later!  :D

Imagine the uproar if the club turn down BP's offer! Protests will soar dramatically.

Obviousy there is a long way to go in the consortium proving to the board that they can take the club forward. I only hope the board treat the bid with the respect it deserves rather than simply move on to the next round of stalling.

As I've said before, protesting at this stage of the season in our current plight would be wrong - thats my oppinion. Lets leave the legals to talk it over.

Normally I'd agree as this is the first sign of progress - but the statem,ent still falls short in my eyes - it doesn't use the word offer, it doesn't refer to the Fans Consortium which we know Bill Power represents, as do they, whcih is yet more petulence from the board, and it also refers to other investment from ohter sources - how often have we heard that before? even if it is true, then I don't want Diamandis or Holt or Gray or even the Wills' now to be actively involved in the club - they'd wither any investment away.

It all adds up to more stalling, or at least the chance of that - so we can't go and crawl into a corner now.

Ban me for voicing a different oppinion than others, surely that would take away the core values of discussion.

A lot depends on developnments during the next few days.  Now the offer has been made (and recognised), the clock is ticking.  If the board stall, the protests will increase in size - Bill has well & truly raised the stakes with this latest move.

Jeffrey - one day, you might start to see the bigger picture here.  You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, I know.  But the protests will now only be avoided by the board acting sensibly and moving on.  We're well past the point of no return on that score.

sounds like the offer has been recognised! at last they have finally relaised the consortium means business...so it would seem. a long way to go though and i think the board are still trying to hold out to see if we go up this season or not
