Some of the little scrots on there aren't worth reasoning with. But it's impossible not to.
Theres clearly a load of wind-up merchants, Maverick, Dell boy, STFC Jeffery spring to mind

Thing is I worry that they aren't on the wind-up - I have major issues with the general public - mostly idiots, and Thisis definately attracts a few.

STFC Jeffery is blatantly on a wind up some of the threads he has started. Same goes for maverick obviously, and I think Dell boy probably falls into the same attention seeking boat.

Seen it Fred, priceless, just priceless!!

That Jeffrey is a dick-head, Maverick just wants to cause an argument and then cannot remember what side he is on (watch out on Saturday) but I do think Dell Boy is ok, he is just loving winding everybody up! :old:  :old:

Fair do's Fred, I'm just about to pop over there and wind a few of them up.  I do it occasionally - it works better than a colonic irrigation.  I think Matty19 must be Nob Dolt

I've been quite good, haven't really bitten or posted on there for a while despite reading it. As you say jeffrey, Mav, Dell boy, matty, ady and a couple of others just spout rubbish and like an argument.
Just a shame it is the most visable board....as I've said before there's something about thisis that makes u sound like an arse, and I include myself in that. It has a strange effect on people and usually ends up with you saying  :fu:

Retards and racists .... hmmm, they're an attractive bunch these anti-consortium trolls aren't they? FWIW, Fred as Rob has pointed out Insider has taken so many contradictory views it's impossible to take him seriously as anything other than a wind-up merchant - just don't take the bait

Actually in fariness to Insider, I checked and it wasn't him with the BNP stuff, it was Ironside.

Insider has taken a rather confrontational approach though, and I have a feeling it's Trust related, although no idea what.

That's just the Happy Clapper in me Reg, it can't help but burst through at times.  I'm sort of like a Revolutionist who is also like to play the tamberine or something equally soft.

The problem with thisis is the number of people who "read" it.  It would be easy to leave the maniacs alone in the assylum, but some people would actually believe it (sort of the same reason why the Daily Mail has readers).

We all have our views millom, and also our ways of expressing them. We saw your approach at the fans forum!  :P

Seriously though, I know like many, you feel passionately about the club and the Consortium. I respect that even though I do not agree completely with how people choose to go about things.

The Board in my opinion, are nearing the end of their time. What finally tips the balance and makes them pack their bags remains to be seen, but it will happen, and again in my opinion, before the start of next season.

Perhaps it will be as a result of a deal with the Consortium, or maybe someone else, who knows? However I am sure it will happen, because I am sure they know there is no way back for them after the past few years.

No matter who takes over, don't you also think it would be worth checking them out as thoroughly as possible, just to make sure we are not gonna get shafted yet again? Normally that process would begin after a deal had been struck, however in this instance, they have chosen to identify themselves sooner rather than later. Inevitably some of the issues raised will be little more than rumours or smears against them, again inevitable, as they were involved at QPR during a time of extreme turmoil (not as far as I can make out something that they were responsible for).

I do not think there are many (any?) fans who want the present Board to remain, the only difference is in how quickly people wholeheartedly embrace the Consortium (or any other investor) as a perfect replacement.

Jeffrey went to school??? Not sure which I find more alarming, that he's old enough to have left (despite the evidence to the contrary) or that our country's education system is churning kids out with so little in the way of powers of deductive reasoning, logic, simple nous etc

Thats a fair response Mav and i apologise for the abuse on thisis and my post earlier...i dont normally go of on one like that.

Scrutiny is all well and good, but it has to work both ways dont you think?

Matt

Hey no offence taken millom - I am sure you can believe I have been on the end of far worse than that!!  :D

I do agree that scrutiny has to work both ways absolutely.

But hopefully you also agree that the Board have been scrutinised to death and found to be more than a little wanting on that score!

All I try to do is explore the alternatives, and yes i know that comes across wrongly on a frequent basis, but to be honest it seems that very few people (publicly anyway) are giving nearly as much attention to the group of people who could be our new board.

I don't really care about the present lot anymore to be honest, as I really do feel they are on their way out.  However I would hate to think that we all just blindly embrace the new lot just because they are better than the last ones (not difficult!!).

Anyways enough of my waffle and thanks for posting that it is appreciated.

One day when all the dust has settled perhaps we should all have one ginormous piss-up and put it all behind us!  :beers:

Talking of scrutiny, the contrast last month between Phil Emmel, & James (look down his nose) Wills would be sufficient for me to make a judgement even without any other info.

More to the point Maverick, mike Wilkes is one of us. An STFC fan. Mr Bowden as a contrast cliams to have been to 135 Swindon Matches... (Not many when you consider he's probably got into all this seasons for free)

A small point on the Bowden issue.
I remember clearly from that wasteoffuckingtime fans forum how he described himself as something like "a resident of swindon and a fan of football" or something like that but he was very clear not to describe himself as a swindon fan.
It was clever wording on his part I thought at the time, to describe himself in that way, because on casual hearing (or reading) it makes you think he's a swindon fan.

Now all this nonsense about 135 games attended comes out and he's suddenly graduated to swindon fan. that'll be half of all home games for the last ten years then. hmmm I think he'd have described himself as a swindon fan in the first place if that was the case, and would have every right to as well surely.

It's obviously bollocks this 135 figure he's plucked out of the air and just because he now sports a swindon scarf on matchdays doesn't suddenly mean he's anything other than the "resident of swindon and fan of football" he's always been

Swindon fan he aint.

tbh, whether Bowden is a Town fan or even a football fan is immaterial (other than insofar as it seems important to him to somehow establish his "credibility" on this) - what matters is his ability or otherwise to deliver on the stadium redevelopment. That's what he came in to do and that's what he should be judged on.

Although of course true, if Blodwyn happened to be a bona fide town fan of long standing,  he might wish to see the error of his ways and present himself for election to the new Board as fan's rep....after all a corporate lawyer who worked for nPower could be of use.
