Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: Mark Hanrahan on Sunday, March 25, 2007, 20:15:15 Go-on Lee my son! :o
I've got to be honest but I genuinely thought all Luggy's bluster about him being a midfielder was just that - bluster. I thought he was trying to man-manage a few goals out of him. Today proved how wrong I was. I thought he was simply brilliant in there today. 8) Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: STFCBird on Monday, March 26, 2007, 10:37:27 I thought Peacock was superb yesterday. swoon.. I also have to say in Fatbury's defence that Pook played well yesterday too  he went for everything. Get stuck in my son! Good to see the team playing some decent football yesterday. More of the same on Saturday please :D
Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: Frigby Daser on Monday, March 26, 2007, 11:34:09 One thing that was clear is that he mustn't go any further back (i.e. centre back) - there were two occasions where te ball got played into our box and he let it bounce once and the other he went to clear volley it clear and sli9ced it when a header would've been far simpler - he hasn't got a natural defensive instinct - which is perfectly understandable.
Saying that, he was good. I hate watching us on tv so much and get so flaming nervous that any analysis of yesterday is taken with a pinch of salt - and I wonder how much praise he'd have got had he not scored - but he did put himself about and show good feet (what a horrible cliche) - put Timlin or Evans alongside him, someone who you can rely on to anchor and let him break forward late Cahill-style, and we could be onto something Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: janaage on Monday, March 26, 2007, 12:07:51 Sorry to disagree, but I cannot agree with the Pook played well comment. He gave the ball away too cheaply, he really needs to concentrate a little more, play it simple and he'd be an ok player.
Only change for next week's match would be dropping Pook. Peacock, Roberts, Zaboub , Bazza and Lukas all played well, very well. Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: Glostered on Monday, March 26, 2007, 12:43:03 I've certainly seen Pook play far worse. Didn't think he did too much wrong yestersday on the whole IMHO.
I think its fair to say that Evo will pretty much come straight back in for him anyway when he's fit. Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: Sippo on Monday, March 26, 2007, 12:46:11 So who would play the 'anchor man' role? Don't think Evans will be fit enough. The Cock is better attacking, and Don't think Weston can play there effectively enough. I feel Pook is the only option til Evans comes back. (unfortunately)
Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: janaage on Monday, March 26, 2007, 12:49:01 Timlin can play there.
Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: Sade on Monday, March 26, 2007, 12:49:40 I've decided that old leapy is my favourite player now :D .
I would bloody love it if he scored that crucial goal to take us up the season. He thoroughly deserves it. He gives 110% every game he plays. I lav him. Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: McLovin on Monday, March 26, 2007, 13:56:17 He could certainly teach Weston a thing or two about being a midfielder. If young Curtis carries on being quite a huge liability every time he plays in the middle, he'll find himself in Bobby Howe territory

Post by: reeves4england on Monday, March 26, 2007, 16:49:04 Agree with Sadie on that one - Peacock to score the goal that takes us up would be immense. He seems to want it more than anyother player and he is great with the fans.
The look on his face when he scored on Saturday was priceless too. Top lad 'Appy Days Title: Peacock - the new Lampard!?! Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, March 26, 2007, 21:52:07 Pook was good I thought. His job was to break up the play and he did do that. Positioned himself quite well in general. Did mess up a few times, but then I thought everyone did that at some stage in the game.
