Title: Van Der Linden on the move Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 18:54:20 Now at the ripe old age of 31. Get him back here and stick him up front.
http://i.eurosport.com/2007/03/21/346088-1865522-458-238.jpg Quote FC Groningen will release defender Antoine van der Linden on the expiration of his contract this summer. "We tried at the beginning of the season to extend his deal, but we failed," club director Hans Nijland said. "After that, we looked at the market and we now find that the time has come to look for a new player for left back." The 31-year-old former Swindon player has been with Groningen since 2003, and is looking forward to his next step in football. "I have played here for four years with a lot of pleasure, but I want to try one more time to play somewhere else," he said. "What it will become I do not know yet. It's good, though, that there is clarity now and that my future no longer is with Groningen." http://www.eurosport.com/football/netherlands-eredivisie/2006-2007/sport_sto1124372.shtml Title: Van Der Linden on the move Post by: Razzledazzle on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 19:02:44 He was a fairly decent player in my opinion, but king bombed him out for some silly reason.

Something to do with the fact that he was a defender, but Mr King thought he should play up front - he refused!Title: Van Der Linden on the move Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 19:40:05 Ooh let's slag Kingy off for changing someone's position. It's not like Wise or Sturrock ever did that

Must have been desperate to play him! Title: Van Der Linden on the move Post by: OOH! Cobian hardly played, let alone scored. Unless we are using 'score' as a metaphore for having sex with a woman, in which case I imagine he may have 'scored' 5 or 6 times after various nights out in Swindon. When I say '5 or 6', it's just a ball park figure. I am assuming he was relatively attractive to the average Swindon female and was neither promiscuous or, on the other hand, a bummer. This would lead me to the figure of '5 or 6'. In other words, I'm just guessing. |
