Title: Luke Summerfield
Post by: fatbury on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 13:42:12
If the name sounds familiar ....

Its because he is Kevin's son.  He's at Plymouth currently and is a wide midfielder who can play central when required.

Yesterday he went on loan to AFC Bournemouth.

I am told he turned us down!!!!

We can only speculate on why .. though of course I could be being fed bullshit ... but I thought Id let you know

He's not a bad player, but he was hardly going to come here with Bournemouth after him, probably didn't want to drop down to league two

Cos Bournemouth are in the League above us?

Just a guess like, but I would think that's the reason.................

Maybe his Dad being here was an obstacle, perhaps he wanted to prove himself elsewhere and at a higher level - as a winger he might pick up a tirkc or two from sicknote Anderton who looks class in League One

Why do you find it so hard to comprehend that a player might chose another club (a club in a higher division at that) over us?

Its because they're by the sea. Do I need to spell it out any clearer for you? I've already said it once, FFS!

Prospects are no good at this stage - we need players who can immediately offer us something IMHO.

A Plymouth fan at work seems to think he's a good player, he hasnt had much of a chance this season but seems to be playing well when he does feature.

And fatbury, he chose Bournemouth over us because they're a league above us, it really doesn't take much working out does it!?

I've seen a couple of his performances... He's okay but not good enough for the Premiership.... Scott Sinclair is vastly better.

Gosling - Plymouth first team player.

Summerfield - Possibly, but he lacks that experience that our fans seem to be craving, which is fair enough. Just because he can perform as a squad player in the Championship doesn't mean he has the bottle to do the business in such an important stage of our season.
