Urban 4x4 drivers hopefully, the set of cunts.  Porshche Cayanne and X5 drivers should be especially targeted.

Expect the usual canning for drinkers and smokers as well as the usual new labour steath taxes so fucking complicated that no one actually knows if its good or bad without a world class taxation expert explainig it to them

Not at all, if it wasnt for buy to let investors buying houses and renting them then the council would have 700 real homeless people in this town alone.  The council cant afford to buy the homes so these people would have nowhere to go......

Agree Piemonte - expect the usual cries of how safe and practical the 4 x 4 is too! The same idiots who forget how massively safe they would be if another one hit one their children!

Would house prices fall if demand was out-stripped by supply? I.e if the rich folk didnt go around buying houses and renting them out i'd have a better chance of affording one?

There is of course the argument that buy to let buyers force the low end of the market prices up making buying a grim prospect for young professionals who are earning decent a decent wage yet can ahrdly afford a flat or maisoneete in a none too decent part of town.  Perhaps my worst expereince of this was when one single perosn bought a whole block of 6 flats in old town just to let them out - when in relaity some young professionals would have been ideally suited.

practical - definatley

Safe - No way.

- Hit a pedestrian - chances of death greatly increased over a "normal" car
- Hit another car - chances of death for passengers of other car greatly increased over a "normal" car
- Have a high speed collision or have to try and avoid one, I hope they like being upside down.

The fact that many seem to be driven by housewifes totally oblivious to other road users, lane disipline, indicating and parking skills or businessmen who want to look important "LOOK HOW BIG MY CAR IS, I'M CLEARLY MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU. BUY BUY SELL SELL"

I seem to have gone off on one here and it makes me sound a bit like an environmentalist hippy. But I fucking hate urban 4x4 drivers more than Gareth Whalley.

According to the BBC's budget calculator I'm £89.15 a year worse off.

I look forward to my £89.15 being given to a unemployed single mum.

11p on fags, 1p on beer and 5p on wine. I think I heard.

Disaster

its a bit racialist against the beer drinker - I put mine in on 30 pints a week and ended up £9.92 better off.  Then thought I'd see how the missus comes out, exactly the same but 30 glasses of wine (for the ladies), £62.55 better off.

Therefore, if I switch to wine, I calculate the government will pay me 3.37pence for every glass of wine I drink.  genius.

If it is any consolation, fags, beer and wine in the supermarkets are ridiculously cheap compared to the UK. Oh and we have the cheapest petrol in Europe as well!!  :beers:

They should super tax petrol and take it off beer, fags and wine.

I'm going to run for election so I can suggest it in parliament

Just give up smoking and drink more, you'll have more money in the long run. The ban on smoking in pubs in England is in July so you'll be fucked then anyway.

I'll be fine until it gets cold around october. Just have to stick to pub with covered gardens. Sorted.

The Castle does, The  Steam does, err that's it isn't it?

Im a WORKING single mum, apparently i will be £150 better off next year but i wont cos they will take it back with things like my rent etc
So i will be no better or worse off than i am now - unless i was to give up work where they would then throw money at me.

I'll be £51.51 better off. Ace. Although I'll have to start repaying my student loan, so I'll probably only be £48.78 better off.

But they abolished the 10% basic rate which completely negates the effect of the 1p reduction for low earners.

The poor are subsidising the rich, fucking 'new labour' indeed.
