FORMER Crystal Palace youngster Michael Kamara will be on trial for Swindon Town reserves tonight at the County Ground. The young centre back will be part of a strong reserves outfit entertaining their Cheltenham counterparts, having been released from the Championship side last week. Kamara, from Sierra Leone, was previously playing for Conference side Cambridge United. PS I beat the news Monkey! Title: New Trialist Post by: Sippo on Monday, March 12, 2007, 18:06:16 Bit worrying because he was playing for cambridge before and they're struggling in the conference. Will he be any good?
Title: New Trialist Post by: Dazzza on Monday, March 12, 2007, 18:22:39 Think that may have been as a youngster, he's just completed his 2nd year scholarship at Palace so don’t think he’d have played much before they snapped him up. No mention of him on Soccerbase anyway.
Title: New Trialist Post by: ronnie21 on Monday, March 12, 2007, 18:46:01 According to postings an another site, he is a commanding centre back who is very prone to give penalties away! Sounds familiar, sorry Jerel!

Yeah I read that mate but in all honesty, Ill plump for another Jerel character at the moment Striker would be nice, but at least we are seeing some movement on getting players in so cant moan too much Title: New Trialist Post by: Scot Munroe on Monday, March 12, 2007, 18:55:01 A striker would be very nice. But we also need another defender as cover.
Title: New Trialist Post by: newmarket red on Monday, March 12, 2007, 19:23:43 I guess we will have to wait and see who sturrock gets in this week or next or the week after promises promises

Title: New Trialist Post by: janaage on Monday, March 12, 2007, 19:31:32 It does make you wonder Rich. I'm not paying too much attention to this search for loan players at the moment. When we sign someone I'll be interested.

Despite leaving Hull to become a pro-boxer at the end of last season he's back playing football again and has been on cracking form for the bins on his return. Chester are having a look and despite the boxing blip he's certainly of a standard for League two. Title: New Trialist Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, March 12, 2007, 20:11:32 2-1 down in the reserve game at home to Cheltenham. Blair scored for us.

Title: New Trialist Post by: Dazzza on Monday, March 12, 2007, 21:05:40 That's the one I think they paid around a million for him before he ended up at Hull via Peterborough.
I can remember him at Sheff Utd where he was a real handful and he always seems to pop up with the odd goal where he’s been. One of those who if his heads in the right place he’s a cracking league one player but the boxing thing is a bit bizarre. Strikers probably more of a priority at the moment mind. Title: New Trialist Post by: ronnie21 on Monday, March 12, 2007, 21:11:44 As they've just been beaten 5-1 at home I doubt we will see much more the trialist!

He has played centre back in his career as well. Saw him play there for brum a few years back and he looked solid enough to me. Might be worth a shout. And if he is still keen on teh boxing, the cgh is on the doorstep :box: Millom Title: New Trialist Post by: ronnie21 on Monday, March 12, 2007, 22:20:28 Curtis Woodhouse - reported to be going to Chester but if he's keen on boxing he could always earn a bit on the side as a bodyguard to the Dunwoody Mafia! :-))(
Title: New Trialist Post by: Fred Elliot on Monday, March 12, 2007, 22:21:42 He can go head to head with our mate Bullzeye
Title: New Trialist Post by: Boeta on Monday, March 12, 2007, 23:09:42 woodhouse was a star in the championship years back, used to dictate the play like graham kavanagh
read an interview with him during the summer when he quit football to go pro boxing (must of gone well then if he's back) and he said that he never loved football it was just a job and he became disillusioned with it. Ive got my lucky Swindon tie on at work today so fingers crossed for a signing to be announced later :)

Title: New Trialist Post by: Piemonte on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, 14:28:49 Anyway - back on topic, I think its fair to assume he's not much good after being part of the defence that shipped 5 goals to cheltenham reserves?
Title: New Trialist Post by: millom red on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, 17:02:05 Give him a chance Piemonte. For one, he only arrived yesterday pm so would of had little time for any meaningful preperation. Secondly, its a bit harsh to judge a player on one game. Luggy will want to have a look over the coming days i would have thought. Time will tell i suppose.
