Title: Contracts? Post by: DV on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 13:50:06 can anyone produce a full list of all our players and when their contracts expire?
Title: Contracts? Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:01:13 Pter BREZOVAN

i blame sturrock Title: Contracts? Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:08:11 Out of contract this summer
J Smith Vincent Ifil Williams Brown Roberts Shakes Nicholas Noubissie Evans Pook Brownlie Sturrock Weston Holgate Wells On loan Brezovan Westwood Timlin Out of contract Summer 2008 Zaaboub Whalley Peacock Out of contract Summer 2009 Jutkiewicz Smith Caton - YTS expired(?) So that's five players contracted beyond the end of this season, one of whom will never play for us again. That's more worrying than I thought. Title: Contracts? Post by: lebowski on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:10:35 worrying? au contraire mon ami, the cull will be most productive.
Title: Contracts? Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:13:41 Looking at the players out of contract, I'd only keep J Smith, Ifil, Williams and Weston. Perhaps give Evans a short-term deal to see how his injuries are.
Lots of rebuilding next season, let's hope that if the incumbent board are still in place they don't try to cut the budget even further. Title: Contracts? Post by: DV on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:14:15 so now the question is, out of those out of contract who would you keep.....and who do you expect Sturrock to keep.
Title: Contracts? Post by: dogs on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:17:29 I'd expect
Brown Roberts Shakes Nicholas Pook Brownlie Holgate Wells all to leave. Title: Contracts? Post by: DV on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:26:38 Out of contract this summer
J Smith - keep Vincent - keep Ifil - keep Williams - keep Evans - keep, short term Sturrock - keep, short term - would like to see Sturrock Jr after having a pre-season under his belt Weston - keep the rest, bye! Perish the thought that Newbury still runs the club next season, because cuts will be guaranteed....the sole reason for a reasonably competitive squad at the start of the season was BP's investment. Title: Contracts? Post by: DV on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:32:37 so basically we're shit and going no where.... 8)
I'm going to Supermarine with Yeovil 8) Title: Contracts? Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:33:13 If this board are still here next season I will go and watch Supermarine instead.
Title: Contracts? Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 14:54:17 I guess it all depends if we go up or not.
If we don't go up - I think more will be offered deals. If we do go up - I think Sturrock will release most of them and bring in his own. He's struggled with transfers because of what division we're in. Title: Contracts? Spot on, if we are still in this crap league he will struggle to bring in decent players, let's just hope we secure promotion then PS can have a right good sort out! :soapy tit wank: :soapy tit wank:If we don't go up - I think more will be offered deals. Post by: Crozzer on Sunday, March 4, 2007, 23:17:50 Quote from: "dogs" I'd expect Brown Roberts Shakes Nicholas Pook Brownlie Holgate Wells all to leave. Ady may be finished, Evans will be given a chance. If Weston is out of favour, surely he's worth swapping for a striker. Possibly, that's why he wasn't featured on Saurday. This is pure speculation. Title: Contracts? Post by: Power to people on Monday, March 5, 2007, 11:57:15 I would imagine that Sturrock will also want to keep Nico & Pook as they would be good squad players, not always 1st team but decent back up to cover for injuries or loss of form, if we get rid of too many and have toom any new ones comingin we risk bueing in the situation that no one knows anyone and it taking half a season for them to get used to each other and us struggling during that time, we need a nucleus of players already here that are decent enough, then put them on 1 yr deals.

Back to the players, I randomly thought of Ben Wells, he's featured once this season. He played right wing for 10 minutes at Mansfield and put in 3 or 4 decent crosses. Maybe he's worth another go out on the right wing what with Shakes being rubbish and stuff Title: Contracts? Post by: Piemonte on Monday, March 5, 2007, 17:38:16 I'd agree with VD there, Wells was good againts Salisbury on the right too. He cant do any worse than shakes on a bad day
Title: Contracts? Post by: sonic youth on Monday, March 5, 2007, 22:48:33 I rate Wells.
Too small for central midfield but has looked handy on the right when he's played there, I remember him coming on against Tranmere at the start of last season and his energy, work rate and pace were impressive and he put in some decent crosses too. Title: Contracts? Post by: Fred Elliot on Monday, March 5, 2007, 23:05:25 agreed
and he is a friend of TUMDFC yay Title: Contracts? Post by: Northern Red on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, 13:30:25 A lot's going to be dependent on which league we're in and how much players earn - E.g. Shakes earns a third of what Roberts is on, so we're likely to keep Shakes over Roberts (Newbury thinking here!). Bold stays
J Smith Vincent - please leave... Ifil Williams Brown Roberts - please, please, please. Shakes - Cheapy player Nicholas - shouldn't have got a driving ban.... Noubissie Evans Pook - Cheapy player Brownlie Sturrock - Daddy won't get rid... Weston - Won't sign a new contract - join Wise on a free if Leeds go down Holgate Wells Title: Contracts?
