Q, What colour are the walls of the boardroom

A, We're currently considering lining them with gold. We just thought it would be a good money-saving exercise as paint is too expensive.

what an arse !  "would you like to pay me for something that isn't mine and that you can probably find yourself for free anyway".  Wouldn't be surprised if the CD-Rs came out of the office stationary cupboard (*although of course I have no proof of that and no accusation of such should be inferred, etc, etc*).

Q: Who are the shareholders in the Club's Parent Company?

A: James Wills and Breams Registrars and Nominees Limited.

Q. What is the win bonus for the team?
David Astin

The actual win bonus should remain confidential. However, it is excessive for League 2 and League 1. It is also higher than many of the clubs in the Championship. It will be reduced significantly for next season.

Q. What is the current situation concerning budget for bringing in players given players that have left the club, compensation for Wise/Poyet, and the income from the summer concert?
Bob Milton, Trowbridge

Funds are available for Paul Sturrock to bring in at least three loan signings if the right players can be identified and are available. Half of the compensation due for Dennis Wise has been received, the balance is due in May 2007.

The Club made around £50K on the Bryan Adams concert. Most of the profit was attributable to the bars and catering and the funds have formed part of our working capital for the year

Q. When can we expect to see Mike Sullivan returning to his role at the club, and after six months as acting CEO, when will Martyn Starnes be confirmed as our permanent CEO?
Tom Godfrey

Clarification of Mike Sullivan's position is expected in the next few days. Martyn Starnes will continue as Acting Chief Executive for the time being.

Q: Can the board give cast iron guarantees that we will have a club to support next year?
Mark Merriman

The Board is completely confident that the fans will have a club to support next year

Q. What is the next five-year plan? Why should we believe you given the absolute failure of the past five-year plan (unless it was to get relegated and stay in losses)?
Rob Tuck

The outline plan for the next five years is to reduce annual operating losses to £300K and to achieve Championship status.

It is extremely difficult for any club at this level to operate within its own resources and remain competitive on the pitch. The plan presents a significant but achievable challenge.

Q. What is the break-even crowd this season? Is there still a deficit? If so why? And who is responsible?
Jon Sheppard

Regrettably the Club does not break-even and hasn't done so for many years. The majority of Football League clubs are in a similar situation and are subsidised by benefactors to a lesser or greater extent.

Q. Whey have no Accounts been produced for over 3 years?
Bob Moore

The only accounts that are overdue are those that relate to the year ended 31 May 2005. They are completed in draft and await the final audit report. Accounts for the year ended 31 May 2006 do not have to be filed until 31 March 2007.

Q. Given that you are holding a fans forum, do you believe in considering the supporters views when making decisions and how?
Eileen Bailey

The fans are the most significant stakeholders in the Club and of course we believe in considering their views. However, with most issues there are many views and opinions to satisfy and it is impossible to consistently make decisions that will be to the satisfaction of everyone.

Q. What is the current financial position of the club?
Alan Jones

The Club's current financial position is difficult but stable. Every effort is being made to improve the situation and the Board is confident of success in this respect over the next few years.

Q. Mike Diamandis said on Radio Swindon that the CVA was dependent on the ground redevelopment taking place within the 5 years yet the CVA document explicitly rules this out? Can the board explain the discrepancy?
Rob Godfrey

The bullet payment of £900,000 within the CVA document clearly anticipated a successful development and revenue streams from such a development being available in order to make a settlement of that amount. The Administrator, Andrew Andronikou, recognises this and is in the process of re-negotiating the payment schedule accordingly. This is common practice within an active CVA.

Q. What has the money been spent on from the sale of Rory Fallon and Sam Parkin?
Sam Dunne

The money received from the sale of Rory Fallon and Sam Parkin was used to finance the day-to-day running of the Club which includes maintaining the football budget at competitive levels.

Q. Why are all fans groups treated with suspicion and mistrust?
Mark Merriman

The fans groups are certainly not regarded with suspicion and mistrust. Members of the Board speak regularly with representatives of all the fans groups and enjoy excellent relationships with the majority.

Nice to see they've still not read the CVA document and apparently didn't listen to Andronikou (eventually) admit the CVA isn't dependent on the CG being redeveloped either. Unless they're deliberately misleading us and I'm sure they'd never do that

Well they either don't answer the question or make up a bollocks answer.
For example:

Quote

Doesn't answer the question

Quote
Q. Whey have no Accounts been produced for over 3 years?
Bob Moore

They've been saying this for months, it's a crock of shite. Anyhow, if they haven't sorted the previous accounts, how the fuck are they going to get the next lot in for the deadline.

I feel that the Board and Andronikou are basically saying that if they don't develop the ground they can't pay the cva, which is why they keep saying that the cva is dependant on it. However, it's hugely misleading, because from a legal and contractual sense this isn't the case.

I'm loving the new 5 year plan.

They intend to reduce losses to £300k and be in the championship.

Given that we have been making £700k losses with a league 2 budget and average crowd of around 7,000 hows that going to happen then?  magic?

Spin, spin and more spin....and no substance.

The latest accounts are due on the 31st March. Baring in mind today is the 1st, and  that they need 3 weeks to call an AGM, they better get a bloody move on to stop them being late.

So where are the Dimandis and the DTI questions?

Probably filed in the nearest bin.

[Also posted on MOS.]

I’m not in the slightest bit surprised that the questions have been vetted. But from a PR point of view, the club have scored a victory because the majority of fans - who do not read these message boards - will be completed unaware that the other questions existed. In fact, I would be very surprised if the majority of fans had even heard of Diamandis and appreciated the situation as it stands.

I think those of us who have been campaigning for a change of scene at board level need to think very carefully about how effectively the message is getting across. Very few fans (as a proportion of the whole) read these message boards. Letting off steam on these boards is all well and good. It’s cathartic, but achieves little in the wider scheme of things because we’re not reaching out to people.

So instead of preaching to the converted in an echo chamber, we need to be

- writing letters to newspapers;
- calling local radio stations;
- leafleting fans at home games; and
- meeting behind the Arkells Stand after home games and giving the board hell.

All these things are happened already to varying degrees, but we need to step up the pressure before and ensure the momentum isn’t lost.

Who are ‘Breams Registrars and Nominees Limited’ holding shares for in the parent company?

Presumably either a shareholder wishes to remain anonymous or shares are in the process of being distributed possibly disputed with Bill Power?

I don’t recall seeing them as nominal shareholders on the last set of accounts so I’m presuming they’ve entered the fray in the past 12 months and weren’t part of the companies formation.

I’m guessing this chap is the lawyer through whom the nominee company was set up…and not the shareholder.  The main purpose of nominee companies is to shield the identity of shareholders or investors in funds.

Are those the directors for Breams Piemonte?

They’ll actually be holding the shares on behalf of an individual/company who wishes to remain anonymous or during a transfer of shares hold them as a neutral party.  The only reasoning I can think of is Bill Power’s disputed shares or possibly something to do with the share issue that came to nothing a few months back?

How do they propose to cut the losses by 500k?  we were lead to believe the last 5 years saw stringent cost cutting to the extent we started last season with about 8 loan players.

If they can't break even with 7000 crowds and League 2 salaried players, what hope have they got?

whilst 30k was the 'figure' being branded around. I very much doubt it would have been all up front (but I know nothing these days anyway) and I expect maybe as much as half of it would have been based on promotion.

So I expect the exact figure would be less than 30k....plus they dont give a time limit on the loans. 3 loans till the end of the season paying some of their wages could be where the 30k is going as we cant buy players now out of the window.

....or the whole story was complete bollocks to get the fans on side to make us think we were going to sign someone when we obviously werent.

I can see what your saying mate i just cant see that buying rogers for 30k with even 15k being paid up front plus his wages which were probably still championship wages would be cheaper than getting knight on loan for 3 months.

I suppose im being naive though in believing that there was even a realistic bid made for rogers

FWIW I am struggling to understand how the club would be able to buy players anyway, especially with cva payment pending

Criteria for diagnosing schizophrenia as per DSM-IV.

Symptoms For a material part of at least one month (or less, if effectively treated) the patient has had 2 or more of:
Delusions (only one symptom is required if a delusion is bizarre, such as being abducted in a space ship from the sun)

Hallucinations (only one symptom is required if hallucinations are of at least two voices talking to one another or of a voice that keeps up a running commentary on the patient's thoughts or actions).

Speech that shows incoherence, derailment or other disorganization

Severely disorganized or catatonic behavior. Any negative symptom such as flat affect, reduced speech or lack of volition.
Duration For at least 6 continuous months the patient has shown some evidence of the disorder.

    Clinical Types

      Paranoid type

The patient meets the basic criteria for Schizophrenia.
The patient is preoccupied with delusions or frequent auditory hallucinations.

None of these symptoms is prominent:

      Disorganized speech
      Disorganized behavior
      Inappropriate or flat affect
      Catatonic behavior

      Disorganized type

The patient meets the basic criteria for Schizophrenia
All of these symptoms are prominent:

      Disorganized behavior
      Disorganized speech
Affect that is flat or inappropriate
The patient does not fulfill criteria for Catatonic Schizophrenia

      Catatonic Type

The patient meets the basic criteria for Schizophrenia
At least 2 catatonic symptoms predominate:

Stupor or motor immobility (catalepsy or waxy flexibility)
Hyperactivity that has no apparent purpose and is not influenced by external stimuli
      Mutism or marked negativism
Peculiar behavior such as posturing, stereotypes, mannerisms or grimacing
      Echolalia or echopraxia

      Undifferentiated Type

The patient meets the basic criteria for Schizophrenia
The patient does not meet criteria for Paranoid, Disorganized, or Catatonic types.
The patient fits the criteria of disorganized schizophrenic.

Treatment Hospitalization, psychotherapy and drug treatment.

Psychotherapy may be helpful in certain situations. Family therapy is often helpful to assist relatives in coping with the affected individual. Behavioral techniques used in a therapeutic setting, or in the home can help a person learn behaviors that will lead to social acceptance.

Hospitalization is often required to prevent self-inflicted harm or harm to others, and to provide for the person's basic needs such as food, rest, and hygiene.

Therefore, the board of Swindon Town FC can be conclusively diagnosed as schizophrenic and require immediate hospitalization to prevent harm to others.
