Better value than the £70 a head dinner...and you're certain that the money is NOT going to end up in a certain Greek's bank account !!!

Couple of things: Im sure I read somewhere on another forum that Dick Mattick (unofficial historian of stfc) was pissed off that the club chose to celebrate 125 years during 2007, as 2008 is the officail 125th anniversary. Can't be arsed to check the dates right now, but does anyone know if he's right? Seems fucking dumb to be celebrating early!

2nd thing. Well done to whoever organised the Macari evening. Thats one hell of a coup to get him back in town for only a tenner a head. Makes the rip-off £70.00 quid a head bollocks night that the club are doing (the event is a good idea, its just the £70 fucking quid a head that I object to) look ridiculous. Well done :soapy tit wank:

In the Premiership season, there was proof that we were formed in 1879 (the club even produced T-shirts with Swindon Town 1879 on them)...so are we really late !!!

Fully concur with that.

I wonder what the football club think of the Trust getting Lou to turn for a Q&A, while they can't get him to turn up for the expensive do.

Heh! heh! I'd never thought of it like that 8)

Sounds like something Ronco would have made if they were still around - The Ronco Dick-matic, for the lady in you life this Christmas 8)

For those of you not old enough to remember Ronco (and I'm sure there must be loads) here is an example of their work.

I give you the buttoneer:

And here is what you could do with said buttoneer:

Yes. It allowed you to attach buttons (and lots of them) to your gloves.

Priceless 8)

Dick Mattick is an old school teacher, and throughly nice chap and knows everything there is to know about STFC along with Paul Plowman..to be fair if they said a certain date was incorrect I'd be inclined to go with what they say..not that stfc would listen to them of course.

Dick Mattick is an old school teacher,

History teacher at Churchfields, Swindon.

He was the originator of the Junior Robins, and former STFC  director, if my memory serves me right in the late '80's.

I would think they are fucking seething that the trust have attracted a legend like Macari to a very high profile non-club sponsored event.

That it has been very sensibly priced to make it attractive to all fans will have them coughing over their calculators as well I imagine.

As I said yesterday, well done (PaulW) the trust. I hope the event is a roaring success. You deserve it for comming up with innovative events like this

That is superb work by the Trust. Exactly the kind of thing fans want at a reasonable price.
