Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: Piemonte on Friday, February 23, 2007, 12:43:28 Sturrocks been on about this and reckons he can do both. To be honset I'm not sure he can do either to a high standard -
He lacks the eye for goal to be a natural striker. And he's scared of heading the ball He lacks the defensive contribution and work rate to be a winger So get rid? I have to admit I've reached the end of my patience with him. He frustrates the shit out of me. Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Friday, February 23, 2007, 12:44:29 Winger - FACT!
Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: Piemonte on Friday, February 23, 2007, 12:45:07 Despite my Ramblings above I voted winger also

Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: tans on Friday, February 23, 2007, 12:53:55 Winger definitely lacks a strikers instinct
Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: swindon_chick on Friday, February 23, 2007, 12:54:51 Winger, I think he's got the pace to be a fantastic winger, If he feels like playing!
Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, February 23, 2007, 12:55:32 Striker
Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: Batch on Friday, February 23, 2007, 13:03:07 Winger in that I think that is his best position generally.
But with the current squad striker because IMHO like it or not he is our most dangerous player (man most likely to score). Peacock and Blair/Lucas are too similar in style to play together and have no pace. Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? I would prefer to see him as a winger, but not until he has learnt to be a team player. Oh and I forgot to say. Fuck off Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: Sippo on Friday, February 23, 2007, 13:35:28 What about a role just behind the striker? Making forward runs from midfield??
Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: Stef Troll on Friday, February 23, 2007, 13:42:21 Not good enough to play in either position for Town
Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, February 23, 2007, 13:44:30 I think Roberts is good enough, he just hasn't got the same oomph to his game since Wise left.

Post by: Arriba on Friday, February 23, 2007, 13:53:08 agree with dv,lazy winger.
if only he had the endevour of shakes,he'd be brilliant wide right Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: jimbob on Friday, February 23, 2007, 13:54:30 question is, what will we be touting him as when we get rid in the summer?as he'd be on league 2's leading scorers page on sky sports news if he was a striker wouldn't he? winger who is occasionally on the scoresheet it is then.
maybe thats Sturrock plan with Peas? Ya know, striker/midfielder/centre half=utility man. I can just see the 'for sale' advert now.... Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker? Post by: sonic youth on Friday, February 23, 2007, 18:22:10 If he's going to play, it's a waste of time playing him as a winger because he's not interested in playing there.
It's interesting that Wise saw him as a potential 20 goal striker and Sturrock sees him as a winger. Title: Roberts: Winger or Striker?
