Title: Leon Best Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 10:23:31 Sturrock wants him, I would be shocked if we got him as he has returned from loan back to Southampton. He would score shite loads for us and I feel if we got him we would have the firepower to go up for sure.
Title: Leon Best Post by: herthab on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 10:26:08 Got some mates who are Wurzels (Sorry, Yeovil fans) and they are sure that they've got first refusal on him at the end of the season.
All of them rate him very highly and are convinced he could do a job in the Championship. Title: Leon Best Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 10:45:53 we wont get him. for a start we would have to get promoted to league one this year to stand any chance

Title: Leon Best Post by: herthab on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 10:59:28 Fatbury, how do you keep so optimistic?
You are an inspiration to us all with your constant positive posts. I don't think you've ever posted anything that wasn't up beat and optimistic. How can Sturrock saying he is looking at getting Best on loan be a smokescreen? If he manages it, great! If he doesn't, he doesn't. I get the feeling that he's in a no win situation with you: if he goes for quality players you'll say he's wasting his time; if he goes for no one, you'll moan at our lack of squad depth and if he goes for a lower league player, you'll say they're not as good as what we've got. Try and say something positive, just once, go on, I dare you................. I had heard the same rumour from the locals but I do think it will be down very much to what division we are in next season. They may have first refusal but the final say must be with the player and Leon did say he had a good working relationship with Luggy in the past at Saints and Weds so he may have enough respect for him to join us...I am very hopefull as I have seen him a few times and he is quality. I also believe that he hopes PS leaves and Steve White can become our manager.... Oh, what a dreamy scenario. :feverishly licking lips and wanking emoticon: Title: Leon Best Post by: Tails on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 16:54:47 Quote from: "fatbury" no chance .. smokescreen To cover what exactly? Title: Leon Best Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 16:57:54 The fact that his name has been mentioned so early on makes me think that it is extremely doubtful he'd actually join.
Lordy, we could do with a Leon Best right now though! Title: Leon Best Post by: janaage on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 17:52:40 Burley owes Sturrock a favour (as he once sold him an alcholic for £600k - Alex Mathie) so PS is calling it in, I hope it works out, he'd be great on loan til the end of the season.
Title: Leon Best Post by: DV on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 18:26:35 I very much doubt Best will drop this low, or that Southampton will let him drop this low when there will be a host of League One clubs interested
