Title: Chester on Saturday....
Post by: will power on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 22:28:48
I'm going to drive 130 odd miles to take my 6 year old son to his first Town match on Saturday - (i know i really should take him to a premier team 10 minutes away!) despite the fact we have been losing or drawing all those "must win" games lately - anyway not that i want to wrap him in cotton wool or anything but don't fancy taking him to my usual haunt of behind the goal  in the Town End - any fathers out there that can recommend a good place to sit with young children???

The Town End side of the Arkells is ideal, I would say. Usually other kids around that area too.

I took my little cousin to his first ever game against Barnet first home game of the season. We sat in the Nationwide and he loved it. Apart from the occasional swear word which you will get where ever it was fine. Great atmosphere for him to sing along too and a great view due to it being quite a steep incline in that stand compared to say the townend. So yeah i would say Nationwide Stand.

Arkells HH 113-114 behind the dug out, near the players and manager, he'll love it!  Although no atmosphere.

Got season tickets with my lad in the Nationwide and, whilst it might not have the atmosphere of the TE, the view of the pitch is excellent.

If your worried about excessive swearing, try from the middle towards the TE.

Most of the spastics sit near the SB.

(Apologies to any spastics who use this forum!)

When I first took my lads to the Town we sat down at the front of the Nationwide and they enjoyed it.  Sad to say the only swearing came from me when Charlie Griffin missed a sitter
