Title: Chester Post by: Piemonte on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 12:52:18 I really dont want to go at the moment.
I've been left so disillusioned by last nights performance and lack of sleep When good times go bad Title: Chester Post by: DV on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 13:13:01 we better come out all guns blazing and win 4-0, anything less and I wont be happy
Title: Chester Post by: fatbury on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 13:13:57 even I can't see us stuffing this one up .. but then again ...

A way of showing my disgust at last nights shambles.
I'm trying to take some positives out of the current situation though (and my glass is usually half empty), and we've got to believe that we can still get promoted AUTOMATICALLY please. Every team around us has had a bad run at some point in the season, hence the small amount of points separating the promotion candidates. I personally would sooner not have had a bad run at all (along with all of us), but it has happened, and we've got to deal with it and move on. I feel it better to have the bad run now, then fall at the last e.g. imagine losing at Rovers which means we miss out on an automatic place? ok, this potentially still might happen, but I've got faith in Sturrock :? that he can get us out of this rut. FFS boys, it aint all doom n gloom, although I did think so last night at the final whistle..... Think last night might have been a bit easier to take, had we put 4 past darlo on saturday  Title: Chester Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 13:31:53 I'll be staying in the pub too.
Title: Chester Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 13:32:33 Yes, a resounding victory is really what is needed right now. Whilst I would take another 'huff-and-puff-and-let-them-pull-a-goal-back-for-a-nervous-last-10-minutes-hanging-on-by-our-finger-nails' 2-1, it is not really what is required right now. We need a 3 or 4 nil.

Is Luggy going to put a couple of the youth side in? At least they might play with some enthusiasm. Think the pattern is set for the season.....probably 1-1 on Sat. Title: Chester Post by: lebowski on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 17:31:37 similarly, i would accept a 3 or 4 nil win.

I reckon he will give one of the kids a start - Chris Allen? I don't really know anything about them to be honest but I think he will do that. Title: Chester Post by: DV on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:20:34 Scott Doe at centre back seems the choice....maybe. At least he's a centre back.
Allen has impressed me, but that would make our midfield even younger and less expirenced. Maybe time to give Ashan another go in centre mid...on no wait, he's left 'n all.... Title: Chester Post by: Frigby Daser on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:28:59 Problem with not having a squad is that when the eleven play like useless bastards, there's no pressure on them to play any better, because they'll play at the weekend and get paid.
I'd have Allen and Doe in. I've never seen either of them play, but thats completely irrelevant Title: Chester Post by: Bogus Dave on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:30:02 What about ben wells. I've been impressed with him every time ive seen him play. And that wrigly fella
Title: Chester Post by: Frigby Daser on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:38:16 Forgot about Wells to be honest, again...never had much of a look bar the odd sub appearance - he can cross at least and again, he won't slack and he'll give it everything. Rigley's broken his leg
P Smith J Smith Ifil Doe Nicholas Wells Allen Timlin Zaaboub Jutkiewicz Peacock Hopper, Weston..... It'd be good for a laugh Title: Chester Post by: Bogus Dave on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:40:45 meh. even with a broken leg he cant be that much worse than brown
Title: Chester Post by: sonic youth on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:42:37 I like Wells.
Title: Chester Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:43:15 Smith
Smith Ifil Nicho Vincent French Right Winger Weston Timlin/Peacock French Left Winger Sturrock Lukas Title: Chester Post by: Frigby Daser on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:44:51 Yeah, bring back Cuervo
Title: Chester Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:47:57 Seriously though, what happened to Patrick Noubissie? I'm sure it was said he could play right wing as well as right back
Title: Chester Post by: Bogus Dave on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:49:24 He was on the bench last night, so im guessig he'll be given a go on saturday
Title: Chester Post by: Scot Munroe on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:49:35 Smith
Smith Ifil Nicho Vincent Shakes Weston Timlin Zaboub Peacock Sturrock Title: Chester Post by: DMR on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 21:54:16 I hope Chris Allen handles his centre forwards better than his drink in Crown on a Saturday night 8)

I'm sure it was said he could play right wing as well as right back sturrock said this evening that he's been worked on and is getting better...he's not played in a back 4 before. he'd have no qualms about putting him in the back 4 now though...apparently smith was poor Title: Chester Post by: fatbury on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 09:07:07 there are a few players id give stick to ..but Jack Smith wouldnt be one of them ... yes he can play badly sometimes but he is a trier ...
Thinking as to who id want in for Saturday .. assuming Peacock and Williams are still out - id go with these Smith Noubissie Ifil Nicho(as theres no one else really) Smith Weston Pook Timlin Zaaboub Lukas Roberts (unless we get someone in) Subs Stewart Vincent Shakes Sturrock Allen Title: Chester Post by: red macca on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 09:17:39 Why on every formation fatbury do you put weston on the right wing :? .I have seen nothing when he has played on the wing to suggest he is better than roberts or shakes. If anything he should replace timlin or pook and to be fair timlin has been shocking recently
Title: Chester Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 09:25:48 Roberts will start on the wing Saturday - FACT!
Title: Chester Post by: fatbury on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 09:37:40 I believe in a SOLID midfield 3 with one man floating free (Zaaboub?) - Pook holding with Timlin left and Weston right .. Ill try and make it a bit clearer tho in future as I admit it was a bit confusing
Title: Chester Post by: REDBUCK on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 10:17:19 Unfortunately Chester are a bit of up and at up side, lots of big fellas and plenty of aggression. Not sure we will see much football on Saturday
A sneaky win will do for me. Smith Nobkiss Ifil Nicho Vincent Roberts Timlin Weston Zaaboub Jutkiewicz New signing If we get one that is. If not, put Roberts there and shakes on the wing. Title: Chester Post by: STFC4LIFE on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 19:11:18 Hes going to drop one of our most consistant players this season in Smith?
Even if he did have a bad game on Tuesday I cant see it. Title: Chester Post by: STFC4LIFE on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 19:13:04 ..................Smith
Smith.....Ifil.....Peacock(If Fit).....Vincent Roberts.....Timlin.....Weston.....Zauboob ..........Jutkiewicz.....Best;) Title: Chester Post by: Tails on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 21:05:09 Quote from: "STFC4LIFE" Hes going to drop one of our most consistant players this season in Smith? Nowt wrong with a bit of competition though. Title: Chester Post by: fatbury on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 21:35:19 has anyone seen Noubissie in action? Im curious as to what sort of qualities he has? for example .. pace .. good heading ability .. good positional sense .. etc
Title: Chester Post by: DV on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 22:00:14 Smith
Smith Ifil Doe Vincent Shakes Pook Weston Roberts Jutkiewicz Sturrock thats my bet for saturday.....maybe Chris Allen in place one of Pook and Weston Luke Hopper on the bench Title: Chester Post by: Luci on Thursday, February 22, 2007, 22:15:37 I personally think we will lose embarassingly by about 3 goals. Without Peacs, Evo and Williams I think we look more like a reserve side.
We'll struggle due to lack of older experienced heads on the pitch. Ady Williams is a good leader, we've missed him IMO. Title: Chester Post by: Panda Paws on Friday, February 23, 2007, 01:14:01 For the stiffs, Noubiwhatshisname looked very pacy, solid in the tackle and strong in the air, but lacked any positional awareness and got caught out of position on a number of occasions, and his distribution and control werent great........good player as an individual but is gunna take a while, a preseason with friendlies etc to become a real asset
Title: Chester Post by: Bennett on Friday, February 23, 2007, 08:07:28 sturrock said he's never played in a back 4 before so they're teaching him positional play (see the french players thread for a slightly less 8.07am version)
Title: Chester Post by: JOHNNY REEVES on Friday, February 23, 2007, 23:31:23 the big suprise is no change to the line up.sturrock has told shakes that a winger should stay on the line about half way up the pitch just inside his own half not 3 yards in front of smith, this way he doesn,t have to run 20 yrds to beat the first player a tactic that hasn,t been noticed by king onura williams and so far sturrock but now happy days. :soapy tit wank: :soapy tit wank: :soapy tit wank: :soapy tit wank: :soapy tit wank: :soapy tit wank: :soapy tit wank:
