Title: Advertiser Today Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 10:21:12 again. not helpful to them! :-))(
Title: Advertiser Today Post by: Bennett on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 10:29:04 i'm relatively sure that the adver would not run with something too controversial. it's probabaly saying there's a fans consortium or something zaney like that
Title: Advertiser Today Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 10:31:19 i have it here in front of me and it is saying that talks have not collapsed but there is some way to go before talks are to really get of the ground. with both sides still seeking "clarification"
Title: Advertiser Today Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 10:33:48 Power remains "100 per cent commited to the takeover" (we already knew that anyway) and it says the club have asked their lawyers to provide a briefing on the current situation as they see it.
oh and apprently investment talks with a third party are at an advanced stage. where have we heard that before  Title: Advertiser Today Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 10:36:40 Quote from: "Rich" Power remains "100 per cent commited to the takeover" (we already knew that anyway) and it says the club have asked their lawyers to provide a briefing on the current situation as they see it. oh and apprently investment talks with a third party are at an advanced stage. where have we heard that before  This sounds like an eleventh hour effort to deflect a protest at todays game. Title: Advertiser Today Post by: janaage on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 11:07:36 Funny that, I went to test drive an Alfa last Saturday, nice car, little untidy, when my Mrs asked the bloke trying to flog it if anyone else was interested, surprise surprise someone was coming to test drive it an hour later who sounded very very interested. I decided against buying it, and the car's still on Alfa forecourt, and autotrader a week later. I wonder what happened to the very interested party?
STFC playing the salesman role I believe. Title: Advertiser Today Post by: pauld on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 11:39:01 You missed this one lambourn where Bill P shoots down the whole "There is no consortium" bullshit:
http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/display.var.1200436.0.power_insists_consortium_is_working_together.php Obviously this must have been the extremely positive article Gazza was trying to draw our attention to. Well done Gaz! Title: Advertiser Today Post by: lebowski on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 11:49:39 i believe that this supposed other investor is being used on two fronts, 1) to ramp up the price (as if the quite frankly hilarious £10million wasn't enough!), 2) to attempt to dis-credit the consortium's professionalism (if that's not a word then it bloody well ought to be) by saying that the other "talks are at an advanced stage".
of course, the board's absolute reluctance to speak seriously to the consortium is slowing things down, and it doesn't help that they appear to be very busy threatening fans with legal action. interesting that the adver confirms recent talks WERE about the takeover, and not solely about bill power's £1.2 million as stated by starnes - is this man even capable of telling the truth? Title: Advertiser Today Post by: pauld on Saturday, February 17, 2007, 11:53:39 To be fair to Starnes, lebowski, I don't think they always tell him what's going on (e.g. letting him make a fool of himself on the radio with the American investor thing when SSW's lawyers had written to Bill and Phil the day before)
