To me it was just something to try and get under their skin about, get them wound up. But I guess the same thing has been said about racist chanting as well. Who knows. I think homophobic chanting is more about the norms of society than whats actually wrong or right. 90 per cent of religion is homophobic and surely that wont change. I think homophobia might be the issue that blows up in the PC brigades faces. I still think that once one high profile footballer comes out as gay, plenty will follow - I doubt they'd get much stick, a bit of banter from crowds but nothing malicious. The game has to be rife with bumboys.
