Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: mattboyslim on Thursday, February 1, 2007, 12:10:57 The new Liverool one is nice, agree on Luton, but then again they perhaps are destined to have a weird stadium, as anyone who's been to Kenilworth Rd will testify. The oldham one look Ok too. I'm a fan of clubs who try something a bit different, the Sarfend one has tried it, whether they've suceeded is another point?
Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: McLovin on Thursday, February 1, 2007, 12:14:34 The Sarfend one looks a bit special. I like their vision.

Very interesting place as well with bullet proof glass surrounding the away end  as well as tunnel out of the away end up into a private train station so home fans cant get at them. Believe this was all put up because of mental clashes between Feyenoord and Ajax fans after games. Fond memories as well as day of our tour round the stadium Swindon Tartan Army walked into a lamp post, classic walking through Amsterdam with blood coming from his head and people asking how he did it :D Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Thursday, February 1, 2007, 15:42:39 Quote from: "stfctownenda" Best stadium I have ever been to was the Amsterdam arena Ajax's ground fantastic stuff. Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: Sippo on Friday, February 2, 2007, 09:48:58 I think I'd prefer a 'squared' off stadium not an oval one. I liked Boavista's stadium. Right on the pitch had also have safe standing.

Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: Give us an S on Friday, February 2, 2007, 16:57:42 Yes i dont like these stadiums which are no where near the pitch. That stadium looks like it would generate an awesome atmosphere and very intimidating for visiting teams.
Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: janaage on Friday, February 2, 2007, 17:00:28 An updated Loftus Road would be a nice model to base it on.
My 2nd favourite English ground that. Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: Spud on Friday, February 2, 2007, 17:03:32 That picture of what the new Liverpool stadium will look like, is identical to the Emirates.
Title: Future Stadium Developments Post by: mattboyslim on Friday, February 2, 2007, 17:15:12 I like loftus rd too, very clautrophobic- a full house is loud and intimidating. Take Carlisle's ground - a new stand that is built yards out of kilter with the pitch..why not change the pitch!! Yet they have still got the three gabled end stand which I reckon is fantastic. Wolves have a great ground but what happened to that brilliant stand that started with small V roofs and just got bigger. Ther was a time when it was brilliant going to different grounds, pretty soon everyone will have the same concrete bowl - and don't even get me onto floodlights... you never had to work out where the football ground was when you drove to a new town, you could see from miles away..now you haven't got a clue.
