I have been an interested reader of Pete's posts in the past, but I must admit there is some history there, and there is just cause to imply that he has an axe to grind.

However, as mentioned, he is well aware of libel laws so must feel pretty confident in his position to issue such statements

Ex-director Peter Rowe I believe?

Think he may have an axe to grind but possibly with good reason reaing that.

Bit that got me was the employee destroying the accounts!

It's always been posted, just on the rivals site - has been posting on there for a while now from 'exile'...yes, he is in Oz.

The ex-employee is believed to be Nick Prescott, yet another that fell out with Diamandis.

The list grows:

Prescott
Dunwoody
Devlin
Power
approx 5000 Town fans

He obviously has an axe to grind I agree but I ddn't think many people were aware of Pete's post so got his permission to post them on the adver site.

He makes his feelings clear I know but there is alot of interesting stuff in there especially the accounts issue and that DD and Blatchley inherited no accounting system when they took over the club

I've always taken his posts with a large wheelbarrow of salt, he clearly has an axe to grind, he's bitter and as such whilst some of what he says may contain elements of truth there's probably far more which is twisted out of context to his own gain.

I went with the axe thing but people know who his is, so to post it so publicly must suggest he'd be willing to standup in court - as he has previously been willing to do and won against Diamandis IIRC

Pete almost certainly does have an axe to grind, but I'm starting to think any of us would if we were forced to deal directly with Diamandis.

For what it's worth, he was the first to mention the DTI investigation into Diamandis' affairs several months ago.  When I asked him if he had any documentary evidence, he e-mailed a copy of a letter which seemed to confirm this (although I accept that you can never be 100% sure.)  And sure enough, a few months later the club are forced to admit to the investigation.

By all means take Pete's posts with a pich of salt.  But don't discount them.

The ex employee (accountant) who deleted the books was called Rob Humby IIRC.

Rowe made a few claims about the state of the club when he was employed around 1999/2000.  It basically intimated that the consortium that took back control was partially made-up of people who ahd created the mess they went on to complain about.

I can't speak for Whits but I've also received phone calls and emails from the club regarding comments posted on here in recent weeks, which is why I posted the announcement on Wednesday.

This afternoon I received a phone call regarding this thread and was told that the Adver had chosen to remove the thread on their forum in order to protect themselves as some of the comments made by Peter Rowe could be potentially libellous.

Personally I've not found them to be particularly threatening but it's clear they're issuing a gentle warning.

Usually I'd balk at the thought of censoring people but for the sake of Whits, the site and individuals who post then it's a sad neccesity that people need to tread a little more carefully.

These comments by Rowe have been on MOS for years, without presumably causing any problems....I regard this as an attack on our community and call for direct retaliatory action if they continue,

I think it's more a case of nobody knows who is responsible for MOS as it's hosted by another site, whereas some people at the club are aware of who I am.

How so... Dave Hanley has been running MOS for 5 or 6 years....he hasn't changed any features in that time!

The Board know TEF is the most potent source of ideas and opinion forming, and so have chosen to attack us, in an effort to silence....what in the case of the Rowe stuff is already in the public domain.

It may be coincidental, but the Board are currently trying to sweet talk some of the businesses in Swindon in search of a new sponsor....it can't help their cause when alarge percentage of the fan base has no confidence i them and might call for a boycott of the company.

Again it seems the club are just being hypocritics again, they name drop into almost every statement slagging off various people, I'm sure Peter will now get a mention in the next statement. Yet as soon as anyone fires anything back at them they just threaten them with this, that and the other.

If they decided to take legal action against any fan that would surely be the final nail in the coffin as I would envisage that the whole fanbase would be up in arms and it would then get really nasty

But oh well I can't be bothered with it, I'm just gonna shut up and let them go into meltdown

you're probably right there reg. a couple of seasons ago both hartlepool and luton had their rivals.net message boards closed down by their respective boards due to "potentially libellous" posts.

the situation now is that if the board start throwing their weight around and shutting down message boards then that would just be putting another bullet-hole in their already obliterated feet, but they clearly aren't afraid of a little scare-mongering, or bullying, if you like.

Exactly - when it comes down to proving any libel, the board go a tad sheepish. To close to home perhaps....

None of us really know, but I wouldn't mind knowing their 'slant' on things at this forum.
