Really hope Loye does play. He's under no pressure. But he could quite easily play himself into the World Cup team if he does well.

We desperately need that big hitter at the top.

Taking Ponting out of the team probably means that Australia's batting line up isnt the best in ODI history. So it gives us hope.

why replace our best odi seamer of the last year with some guy that a) doesn't move it b) bowls short c) bowls wide

Tremlett has to get a go at some point - has bags of potential and offers something genuinely different - bounce!  He's not rapid, hovering at 85 to high 80s, but with the elevation he gets he can cause lots of probelms and it one day, the last ting you want is to be tucked up off a length every ball. Better than Mahmood and Plunkett. I'd keep Lewis in there - he's the one day Hoggard but with more variation (which you need in one days)

Lewis is so underated. Should've at least have more caps to his name.

This will probably be our biggest chance to win against the Aussies. They aren't really the same without Pointing in charge.

If the other Aussies go wrong at the top and we have Australia at 100/4 then Ponting will still see them home anyway. If we can get them 100/4 with no Ponting we have a great chance.

Agree about Tremlett. Great prospect.

Will be interesting to see how Anderson gets on. The Aussies usually destroy him, after 5 overs he looks like he's going to cry. But he must have taken some confidence from the NZ game. Hope he'll have some more bottle. They really should have had the taxi ready after that over in the twenty20 game where he dropped 3 consecutive balls short to Gilchrist and went for 3 consecutive massive sixes. He's got to be testing the patience of the selectors. He looks so drab and average when we play the Australians. I dont think he's up to the challenge of the worlds best.

not sure about tremlett, he gets bounce but whenever i've seen him i've always thought he just puts it there as to really bowling it there. hard to explain but watch him and you might see what i'm saying

The losing side used to be able to get a bonus point but they dropped it.As you say the whole idea of bonus points is a bit stupid anyway,but i guess it will reflect the dominance the Aussie's are going to have over the competion.

do not forget Anderson with the ball. He had hussey out caught behind on 19 clearest edge. was not given. His figures were 2-24 off 10.

The run out was embarressing and alot of the catches behind was bread-and-butter stuff... Apart from a couple of good catches that was an abysmal batting display.
