Can someone tell me how to pronounce my landladys name please? I've not had to say it to her out loud before so I thought I best find out how to, as I may need to soon. I think it's Polish anyway - Zambrzycki - any help would be greatly appreciated!

thats a tricky one, well saying it isnt but there are some prunounciations which are very hard to describe what they sounf like and rz is a hard one,

things like if you had an SZ in a polish word you would say is the same way english say SH same as CZ for CH but RZ is a tricky one.
I guess it sounds a bit like rsh but having an almost slient r.

so in a way i guess it would be something liek Zam-brshic-key

The C will need to sound like a C and not a K like a lot of comming english words also, as in Cat although its a C you use the K sound, the C would need to be a soft C then followed by a K.

The best was to prunounce the last bit (c-kee) i guess would be so make the 'c' sound as if you were saying 'ts' then followed by 'key'

so try zam-brshic- key

I could. I'd rather not though, her accent is very thick and a conversation (esp on the phone) is difficult.
