I remember an interview with Scholes a few years back....and the question was asked 'who did you idolise as a kid growing up, who did you aspire to be' Did he say Pele, Maradonna, Cantona etc Nope, some Oldham striker no one had ever heard of. England have been a much poorer side since he retired from International football...
