the Barrow defender who hit a rovers player has been Jailed for 4 months.

I know what he did was bad, and if he did it on the streets he's be arrested too, but 4 months!!! seems slightly harsh, punches like that get thrown every friday and saturday in towns across the country.  I guess he's been made an example of.

My mates brother was on trial for attempted manslaughter after a punch he landed on the guy knocked him out and his head hit the curb.

He got found not guilty due to self defence though..

I think he should have got longer. You cant go doing that in front of telly cameras and expect to get away with it. Has he been banned from the game for any period? I know Barrow sacked him.

probably not but from the video I saw of cotterill and what I saw of paddy paddy took a worse blow, cotterill should be banned but not put away for four months.  Kiddie fiddlers can get that sort of sentance our justice sentance doesnt add up

Should have got longer as it's GBH. Ben thatcher knocked Mendes out cold and only got a fine and a 5 match ban doesn't seem right.

To my mind what cantona did was worse, the extent of the injuries as less and there was provocation but he leapt off the pitch into the paying public, the barrow incident was truly appalling but was at least kep on the pitch, having seen those two pansies windmilling in Spain they could end up getting life.

If swinging a deliberate punch, causing damage is 4 months in jail, then egg chasers up and down the country, will need a special prison built just for them, because that happens at all levels up and down the country every Saturday.

I still can't believe a little backwards flick broke a jaw, it was hardly a roundhouse sing.
