Shakes-7 the nutmeg on Ginger to win the corner that led to the goal was priceless,worked hard and did fair share of chasing back
Timlin 8-superb did the work of two men,superb set piece for the goal
Pook 5-sorry,lamentable-especially his two"attempts" on goal
Zaboub-7 touches of class but should have scored twice
Peacock-8 best game for weeks good hold up play and neat lay offs plus usual workrate
Roberts-6 brilliant free kick but little else

Smith - 7 - Only a 7 from me, some good saves first half and a very important penatly save. Went to pot in the second half. About three occasions he didnt come off his line and clear it. I dont know if he decided to not come off his line incase it held up in the wind or what. The one where he didnt come, then did and him and Williams kicked each other could have proved costly

Williams - 8 - Immense
Ifil - 8  - The beast at his best, like McLeod is worth 1m+  :soapy tit wank:
Vincent - 7 - solid

Shakes - 7 - very hard working, very decent game
Pook - 5 - might as well have not been there
Timlin - 7 - good performance, had to do the job of two men
Zaaboub - 8 - Ace, sign him up now. Pure quality should have scored one or even two

Roberts - 6 - Lazy and had the first touch of a ricky shakes! usless
Peacock - 8 - Quality, well taken scrambled goal. Good flick ons and some top defensive work in the last 10

Smith- 9  Great performance, Fantastic in every way, would be a 10 if he saved 2 like brez.
Smith- 7 Reasonable game, did the job.
Williams- 8 Great game, really holds the back 4 in position
Ifil- 8 Solid defending, don't take any shit
Vincent- 6 Didn't realy pay much attention to him
Shakes- 8 Well impresed with him, skimmin player and even put a few good crosses in and a few shots
Timlin-7 1/2 Not as good as he's been recently, a few poor passes but yet still solid and did well
Pook- Not even gonna give him a rating, he was utter shite today
Zaboob- 8 1/2 I hope we keep him and he wants to stay, he's got fantastic feet and when he took on 3 defenders was just great, right at the end.
Peacock- 7 Still needs to make an effort on high balls, atleast make it look as if he's trying, but still played well when he had the ball
Roberts- 7 Didint really do too much, but had a few good spells, still i find when a deep ball is comming in he automaticaly spins the defender thinking the defender is going to fumble and the ball will come to him, theres no need, challenge for it in the air.

P Smith Couple of excellent saves but looked a little panicky at times, not quite as commanding as usual. 7
J Smith Given some cover ahead of him had a much more solid game. 7
Ifil A few rushes of blood to the head leading to some rash challenges and being found out of position but otherwise solid. Dealt with McLeod's pace well. 7
Williams Steadily and unspectacularly solid. 7
Shakes Best I've seen him play for awhile - perhaps being dropped has made him hungrier? Got forward to good effect and had a couple of good chances saved. 8
Pook No comment needed. 4
Timlin So painfully one-footed but as DV said he had to do the job of two men today. 8
Zaaboub He can dribble, he can cross, he can beat a man, he's superb. Sign him up. I wish his late chance had gone in that would have been the greatest goal of the season without doubt. 8
Roberts Ineffective for the most part, ironic given he's been better out wide. 6
Peacock Threatened on a few occasions but was fortunate with his goal. 7

Strangely I thought the midfield was good today given the fact Pook was anonymous and MK were very physical...

Agree with the above sentiments. Pook was awful today. I honestly thought he was no better than sunday league standard under Kinky and Iffy. Wise got him playing well though and he deserved his place on merit at the start of the season. Under Sturrock he has gone backwards and is playing worse than he was pre-wise. Not blaming Sturrock, just a sad observation of someone who can play much better football but isn't doing so for whatever reason.

wasn't there today, but a comment on vincent. i never notice him when he's playing which means i've never noticed an opponents right winger geting the better of him! i quite like him, steady if not too great going forwards but you don't get too many paul bodins at this level.

Its no surprise that Jerel is playing like the player we all knew he could be this season. He has an experienced head to help him through, and we've seen far less Jerel-esque nightmare episodes.

If only for that benefit, Ady is well worth his place in the team.

I personally thought Roberts and Pook had been getting some slightly unfair critisism recently, until yesterday when in truth they were both pretty dire.

Re: Williams and Ifil's partnership, there was one brilliant moment where Williams told Jerel exactly when to stop so that there player was caught offside, then gave him a little nod for a job well done :D

amir that was a defining moment for me, at that point, half way through the first half, i knew we had the better of them, phil smith and the back four were immense yesterday. very very well organised, throwing themselves at everything. top class defending.

Agreed mex, there was some big balled defending out there, a couple of cock-ups that we got away with, especially when it looked like mcleod would have an open goal. I think Williams just galvanises the unit, and even vincent looked good yesterday.

There was lots of last ditch, throw your body in front, never say die, type defending yesterday - and we did get away with quite a few chances where Dons should have scored.

The thing I can't help asking is why on Earth can't we defend like this every week?

Moreover, during Christmas, we lost to relatively shit sides in Macclesfield and Notts County but beat MK, Rovers and Walsall.

We don't seem to be able to raise ourselves for the dregs of this league which is a worrying pattern.

The adver ratings are again a joke, Pook and Timlin both on 7!!! wtf, their relative performances were so vastly different I don't think a 1-10 scale can do it justice.

Compare the playing style of Roberts (attacking, zero defence) against Wycombe and Shakes against Franchise. He's a hard working little imp isn't he, and I'm glad he's quite prepared to get back and get defensive. You can see why he was chosen for this game.

Fatbury only last week i was sticking up for pook,yesterday though i think i witnessed the worst performance i have ever seen from a town player

Macca's control of the mini football in some random car park we stopped in was better than anything pook contributed yesterday!

P. Smith - 8. Brilliant penalty save, some other important stops. Only let down was him rushing off his line/not rushing off his line at the right moments in the second half.

J. Smith - 6.5 Put the recent poor performance behind him and produced a competent display. Did get dragged into the middle a little too much though.

Ifil - 8. Some good recovery work and made some important tackles.

Williams - 9. Led the line well, communication was good and kept the defence cool under pressure.

Vincent - 7. Had a good game. Probably not as effect going forward as could have been but the game was all about the defence.

Shakes - 7.

Timlin - 7.5. Got stuck in and was made to work harder for Pook's crap display.

Pook - 3. Oh dear lord, closing down and passing was poor. Bad decision making. Didn't know which part of the pitch to cover.

Sofi - 8. If we can keep this player we will have one of the best left wingers in the division. Performance showed this, although should have done better with a couple of chances.

Peacock 8. - Worked his socks off. Cared so much about the 3 points. Good hold up play and passing.

Roberts - 5.5. - I've defended him but this performance wasn't very good. Started off brightly but became disinterested.

ritson gave pook a 7 in today's adver, saying that he "worked hard".

I don't think you can call Macclesfield shit, they have just won 6 in a row, Ince seems to have sorted them out now.  As for Notts County, what Dave said.
