mainly because hes a central midfield and you need more of them than you do left wingers.

At the moment, we have Brown, Zaaboub, Monkhouse, Caton and at a push even Roberts who can play on the left wing....

I like the way there's no fucking about with Sturrock. If he don't think you're any good, you're off. No messing about. Thats what we need, not a Mr niceguy who keeps all these shit players happy. Keep up the good work I say.

I just hope whoever he can bring in does the biz. To be fair Zoobs and Timlin I'm happy with so far!

I agree. He so obviously knows exactly what he is doing. I don't know if we've ever had a manager who so knew what he was doing. Maybe Macari, I don't know.

I like the fact that he is positively addressing issues which have dogged us for years such as being totally crap at corners (offensively and defensively) and not killing games off such as the Wycombe game on Boxing Day for example. These are problems that pre-date Iffy and King. We have had them for as long as I can remember in fact but we finally have a manager who is facing up to those problems. I have utmost faith that he will sort it out.

He had alot of chances to have shots, make decent passes, crosses etc but didnt. Crap player, and a big liability.

i couldn't disagree more.he was composed and i counted only 4 passes from him that didn't find a town player.that in awful conditions too.
he played very well today,and every manager he has worked under rates him.
if you  want to slate someone,dish it out to roberts who did all of the things you say pook did

Pook was rubbish today.

We didnt win any where near enough in midfield and Pooks delivery esp from corners was rubbish.

Again, I do rate him and think he is a decent enough player to have in the squad and play at this level, but if you class that as a good performance then you cant have very high standards.

I reckon I've seen Pook play at least 10 games better than that today

he did alright I thought - never stopped running unlike Peacock who never started running .. the problem is that Pook and Timlin are very similar players and it needs a Curtis Weston in there to drive it forward in midfield ..

no, pook and timlin are not the same type of players. at all.

Pook's job should be an easy one, stay in the middle win the ball and then lay it off nice and easy to someone who can do something with the ball, one of the best roles to have in a team, makes you look like the hardest worker when all you'redoing is covering the centre.

His set pieces are non league standard and should not be allowed to take another corner until he learns how to cross the ball in properly.

Hartlepool will buy Monkhouse on Tuesday.

Maybe Leeds will hijack the bid in the 11th hour.  As they need to start rebuilding for next season.

I have faith in Sturrock, as he has so far brought in Timlin and Zaaboub, and they (along with Jack Smith) have probably been our best players over the last few games. (Blair Sturrock hasnt played enuf games to critique him)

To get promoted this season (even as champions), we need 2 strikers who look like scoring in a game.  With Parkin and Mooney upfront, you wouldn't mind sticking a £5 on the fact that one of them would score for Town in any given game.  However (for me anyway), the same cant be said about Roberts or Peacock.

Jutkiewicz seems a decent proposition, but at his tender young age, i think it would be harsh to expect him to play every game and maintain his crrent form.

For me (bar strikers), we probably have the best squad in the league.  

For Jan, i reckon Sturrock should sign 2 strikers and assess the players we dont need.  Unless Roberts is seen as a right midfieler/winger, i dont see a future for him at the club.  I would keep Peacock for now, as he would be a useful sb/rotation player.

Other then them 2 players, we maybe need a utility defender, and a decent right winger/midfielder to help get us promoted.

Again, if the strikers arent given the service they cant score.

Against Wycombe we had crosses coming in from both sides and our strikers got on the end of them and scored.

Today Roberts produced very little from the right wing for the strikers

We need another expirenced central midfield, like Evans but not injured obviously and a right winger much before we need a striker.

Peacock and Jutkiewicz had very few chances today and Peacock was unlucky not to score twice.

We could have Ruud Van Nistlerooy on our side in the penalty area all game, fucking usless if we dont create him any chances

Shame for Brownlie and his family having made the move here. Never felt he was given a fair run to show what he could or couldn't do. I guess Sturrock has seen enough in training to decide.

What our strikers need is service. Zaaboub has a good cross on him, whereas Shakes or Brown do not......Players like Peacock and Jukiewitz thrieve on good crosses into the box, so i expect Sturrock to be on the look out for a good crosser of the ball, especially as it seems our only other decent player who can cross, is off to Hartlepool.

Seeing as Onibuje and Brownlie are of, i wouldn't mind seeing another striker come in, however.
Another centre back wouldnt go a miss as we don't have any real cover in that position.

So for me - A right winger, a striker and a centre back is what is needed. Possibly another centre midfielder, due to Evans being sidelined.

Strikers have got to get into the right positions also.

No point Peacock staying in midfield when hes playing  upfront as a striker.

well if hes not getting the chances there is little point in him doing anything.....and he was hardly sitting in midfield today!

my opinion is based on today only.a game played on an awful pitch in awful weather.for me pook,timlin and zaboob(in patches) were the best players in a town shirt today.

I felt sorry for the two young lads (Stroud & Henry), Sturrock had originally told them that they were getting new contracts. He says that he did it for the right reasons, and he'll do everything in his power to find them a new club, but that's got to be soul destroying :(

After watching some goals connected , I can say we need a good central defender . And of course striker...One will be enough .

Where as I thought Pook was rubbish and very ineffective today.

I agree Timlin and Zaaboub were the only bright sparks, but Pook did nothing in my opinion to keep himself in the team.

Although he probably will due to injuries, but if possible I'd have Weston straight back.

pook was shit, but roberts was a waste of space on the pitch today. was not in the least bit interested and didnt seem like he wanted the ball....or to play any part in the game whatsoever. peacock can drift in and out of games sometimes but its a hell of a lot easier to keep your patience with him when he looks like he wants to get involved.

Roberts is frustrating IMHO, we know what he can do, he often doesn't do it though.  If he did thought, he'd be way too good for us!  Yesterday isn't a fair gague of things as conditions were terrible.

Ermm...Thats what makes a decent striker. He's no owen i know, but strikers are by nature selfish, they have to be. And second half, i thought he played well. He has pace to burn, and we should play to that strength more often imo.
