Would add up with Sturrock on about getting in another midfielder in today's WDP. It's pretty much one in one out at the mo, and he really did look poor v Wycombe if you ask me. Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: fatbury on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 12:21:24 Id be well pissed off!

Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 13:31:48 Why is this good news exactly????
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: Arriba on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 13:32:52 pook is a better player than he gets credited with by some fans.i'd like him to stay
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 13:35:54 Me too arriba.Dennis wise knows a thing or 2 about midfielders and rated him as does ince obviously but everyones got a opinion i suppose
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: Arriba on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 13:40:03 king, iffy, woan, all rated him too.
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 13:40:51 has he got his license back though??
could cause a problem Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: stfctownenda on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 13:57:33 Quote from: "red macca" Why is this good news exactly???? It is a game of opinions just dont really rate him, he does try hard and will regularly work up & down a pitch and give 100% but find it hard to see what else he brings to a team he doesnt stamp his authority on a game by being either a playmaker or a holding midfielder so find it hard to see why he plays, as I said only my opinion though. Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: DV on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:20:54 arriba, you rate pook but not monkhouse?
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: Arriba on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:22:54 Quote from: "DV85" arriba, you rate pook but not monkhouse? i rate pook yes.i dont not rate monkey, just in comparison to others in his position he is not as good. Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: DV on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:25:10 and Pook is compared with Timlin, Zaaboub, Weston & Evans?
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: Arriba on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:26:14 2 of which are injured.
another clearly is better suited out wide. Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: DV on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:27:42 true, but when all our fit. He'd certainly be 5th choice in that list
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:30:32 Quote from: "DV85" and Pook is compared with Timlin, Zaaboub, Weston & Evans? one of those centre midfielders is probably not likely to play again this season(evans) 2 are not even our players which leaves us westonTitle: pook off to macclesfield Post by: DV on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:31:41 how is zaaboub not our player?
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:36:11 We only have him until january,ok it is on a contract but only literally weeks left,no doubt that he will sign a new one.
My point is dv is that pook is well worth having around How many games have we lost when he has started This year Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:37:51 Not that i know the answer myself im just interested to know
Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: DV on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:37:53 I never once said he wasnt worth having around!
I just said we have better players in his position....and with a fully fit squad he'd struggle to get into the team.... Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 14:39:35 No i know you didnt, you just asked arriba why he prefers pook to monkhouse.

Plus, he's chipped in with some good goals this season. No pace what so ever, but better than Aaron Brown I think. Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: Arriba on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 15:13:31 pook is a good squad player in a position where injuries are frequent,
he is yet to reach his full potential i think.also i am pretty sure his wages would be one of the lowest in the first team. monkhouse is older and injury prone, he plays a postion where we have 2 better options.he is a decent squad player too but i suspect he costs more in wages, and as money is tight would be one i'd do without. Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: mattboyslim on Friday, December 29, 2006, 15:16:10 I don't think age is the issue, Jack Smith is better than Vincent is it cos he's younger? How does it work that Williams is our best defender (IMHO) and the oldest in the team?
Pook is OK but replaceable, frankly if Sturrock wants rid of all the team and 11 new players let him do it, he knows what he wants and I think he'll get results. IMHO Monky could do a very good job for us here, but if Luggy wants rid (or not) then its his call. So far he's promoted Lukas to the starting 11 and brought in Zaboub and Timlin so his judgement is looking good so far. Different positions mean you need different qualities, to play in the middle of the park you need a good engine....you need to be mobile....can Whalley still cover all areas of the pitch, can he heck! Williams, is different...when was the last time he spent as much time out injured as Whalley? Williams has continually been playing football for years, his body hasnt given up on him yet Title: pook off to macclesfield Post by: red macca on Friday, December 29, 2006, 15:24:45 Quote from: "DV85" Quote from: "red macca" Quote from: "DV85" so he should be, what with Whalley being 33 and Pook just 20? The sooner he goes the better. The game just passes him by. He has no awareness, can't tackle and just runs around alot. When he does get the ball he just looks for an easy square ball which usually ends up with an opposition player. Chippenham would love him.
