Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: Sheffield Red on Sunday, December 24, 2006, 15:34:29 Where will be the best place to get hold of Orange Hats before the Wycombe game ? Will they be handed out outside the ground (or as close to the ground as possible that does not come under the jurisdiction of the Newbury Fashion Police)?
We got there too late to get them at the Rovers game and might not get to the ground until 2.30 again on Boxing Day. Sheffield is the 5th biggest City in the country but try finding an Orange Winter Hat anywhere within it's boundaries. I have tried the high street shops, cheap warehouse clothing stores, scabby market stalls, and army stores. Even tried the Early Learning Centre in the hope that there might be a demand for bright Orange Hats for toddlers with large heads. Was definitely clutching at straws when tried the Orange Mobile Phone Shop. Have just reached normal body temperature again after Macclesfield yesterday. Merry Christmas to one and all. Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: magic8ball on Sunday, December 24, 2006, 16:00:08 Actually, on this note, I will be wanting an orange hat for the Notts County game.
I have a gold Newport County top that I can wear, but I was wanting to wear my Town shirt and maybe get an orange hat. Are they being given out somewhere? Just tell me where I need to be and at what time. I thank you. And all that merry xmas guff to you all. Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, December 24, 2006, 16:04:25 If it's anything like the Rovers game, there'll be Orange troops all around the ground handing out hats and leaflets. Mainly near the NW/Club shop end (for maximum impact - the board get a good view of the NW from their comfy seats).
Or you could always try the trust office. Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Sunday, December 24, 2006, 20:37:25 Fred. can you still save me an Orange hat please? i may come down to the trust office if i don't get one

Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: FlashGordon on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, 20:16:44 I dont mind this 'protest' going on...everyone is entitled to their opinion, BUT think the giving away of hats is a bit funny. I mean the idea of a protest is getting a group of people together who believe the same thing and protesting against something but by giving the hats away especially the wolly ones on a cold day for free...pretty sure it scewes (sp?!) the numbers some what. Hence why i believe most of the people wearing orange today didnt actually 100% support the campaign for what its meant to be their for. I mean if your giving things away for free nobody is really going to say no, more likely to say oh yeh please thanks very much - especially if they hav children (something for them to have and amuse them) and wolly hats on a cold day, once again people are going to want one not necessarily because of the protest but because of the cold.
Personally dont think hats should be given away as it makes people look as if they are resembling a protest when some arent. So adds numbers to the protest by default really Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, 20:23:30 Fair point but do you support the board (current board?). Why do you buy your ticket if you do?
It's all swings and roundabouts and even if you support the team but not the board, you are inadvertedly supporting the board by buying tickets Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: FlashGordon on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, 20:27:05 Fair point. Although think its bit of a shallow ploy still to attract 'supporters' in the protest in the case of the hats, thats the only thing that annoys me.
But i dont hav a massive problem with the board without wills we would be done for, so dont like to protest against him and his regime because we would be no where without him. My view. Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, 20:43:00 Maybe.
Take the other hand, he's repressing the club. Loan notes, loans set up. The sun doesn't shine out of his arse! But he has done a lot of good for our club down the years. People can chose whether to get a hat. In fact I decided not to take a hat until the bit before the CGH (outside trust office) yet people with me did. Nobody even tried to force anythign upon me. Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: FlashGordon on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, 22:25:05 No i appreciate no one forces you to take one, just think alot of people take one because its free thats all

Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, 22:32:11 I had the "i'm in favour of a trust consortium take over and I have leukemia" look with my orange cap today.

We're walking in an Orange Wonderland. Actually from counting what we had left after, it was more like 2500. Fantastic effort, especially if you add in those that brought them back from getting them at the Rovers game, there was well over 3000 wearing orange. Bloody marvellous effort - we need to keep it up. Can everyone who's got some orange stuff please keep bringing it and keep wearing it? They need to know we're determined and we're not going away! Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, 23:41:25 there was more today. im just going to keep wearing orange every game :D
Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: millom red on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, 06:22:09 Simple choice really Flash. Support the trust and the consortium, ask for an orange hat or wear something orange. Dont support the trust/consortium dont ask for one, dont wear orange, and bring one of your own choice of colour hat maybe.
Keep up the Orange campaign boys! It's a growing! Millom Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: stfctownenda on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, 10:17:28 I disagree I dont think anyone would just take one because there free the campaign has been publicised in the adver and on the web and I am sure the vast majority of people would of known exactly what the hat represented and would more than likely been passed a leaflet on the consortium as well. Personally I think you will find the constant aggressive statements the board (Diamandis, Holt etc) are releasing are only increasing the support for the consortium. Come Notts County dont be surprised to see the vast majority of the ground in Orange :D
Title: Hats at Wycombe game Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, 11:23:23 I looked great in my bright orange Holland shirt yesterday. Will be wearing it to every game untill those cunts leave!
