Sounds like he wants to stay oop naarth, if that is the case we might as well let him go. Which is a pity as I think hes a decent player and offers something different to our other wingers.

Using the media to get him a move.

It's annoying because in the interview he says that Sturrock sent him to Hartlepool to get him fit and then says his Swndon career is "up in the air" - how is it up in the air? In January Sturrock expects you back, you muppet.

I wouldn't mind seeing him on the right. He can play there, Shakes is useless and Roberts doesn't like it, why not bring him back and stick him on the right, if not we can always play Fola on the right. :?

Sturrock has seen him play 45 minutes.

In that 45 minutes he was clearly not fit enough

2 words, Jamie Cureton. If he wants his move then I guess he should be allowed it at the right price. No point keeping a player who wants out.

In the Northern Echo he doesn't sound so much like he's angling for a move, simply hedging his bets I'd say which is fair enough considering he's out of contract in the summer.

Title: monkhouse
Post by: paul_stfc on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, 17:20:38
y did we let him go on loan in the 1st place. He is the best left winger at the club and what difference does it make him recoverying from injury playing for hartlepool instead of us :soapy tit wank:

My views

Currently H'pool sit in the last PO place.

Don't let this guy be another in the long line of players to come back to haunt us ;

Thorpe
Benjamin

etc

The reports I have read implies that he is going through a purple patch.

I say brink him back as soon as, make him prove his worth and replicate the form that he is showing at the moment.

If he does not show that then let him go when his contract expires

But will he come back and play to the best of his ability? Or will he sulk?

I don't like how he's done this via the media and I doubt we'll miss him majorly as we have Brown and Zaaboub.

You'll have to do the Bristol City thing and slap a clause in his contract making him unable to play against us this season.

The point is Rich

He is playing well for a team that I would class as a promotion rival in the same league.

Dont make sense to me mate !

I agree. But there's a realistic issue of freeing up the wages which I can see being a issue here - he's on a one year contract and we may be able to get a fee of some sort (although 2 clubs rule?)

It's risky and I agree with the notion of of selling him to a rival promotion chaser is ill-advised.

We'll discover if Sturrock is truely a man of his word if, like CCP, he is summoned back to Wiltshire.

One question ;

Can Luggy get him motivated to perform as he is capable of (considering Luggy's love of wide players getting early balls into the box) ?

Also ;

Monkey v Brown ?

Have to say at the moment Fred, Brown would my favourite to play wide left.

Monkhouse is the only one of our wingers who can get  good ball into the box, pretty consistently. But if he doesn't want to stay here, then he can fuck off. If we go up with brown playing on the left il still be happy
