Title: Man Of The Match Post by: STFC Village on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 19:06:02 Jerel was fucking awful today
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: stfc_steve on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 19:07:41 True village if he was not so inconsistent and stopped having rushes of blood to the brain he would be playing in the higher flights of the football league ladder
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: DV on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 19:09:28 Wasnt one of Jerels best games, probably at fault for the goal but I am convinced their guy was a yard in front and offside.
No toss up needed. Timlin was ace, covered every blade of grass and did a tremendous job of breaking up the play and distributing the ball. Only down side is, he is soooo one footed. He would rather kick it with the outside of his left foot than use his right. Looked off by the time id watched the ball over the top anyway meh! being onside when the ball was played, but being ahead of the defender when you recieve it didnt stop the linesman flagging Jutkiewicz offside about 3 times in the second half! Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Chubbs on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 19:21:53 first time i have seen timlin play a full game and i was impressed, MOTM for me, Jerel had a poor game, he had a few good spells but again at fault for the first goal.
Zaboob was good, again its the first time i have seen him play apart from 5 min against bury (i think) Jack smith had a corker of a game, some very good blocks to preven cirtain goals. Timlin and Jack Smith were the best on the pitch today Title: Man Of The Match Post by: timmyg on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 20:08:58 Jack Smith for me.
Threw himself in front of those strikes by the Town End at the end to surely prevent an equaliser. Those would have hurt too. Timlin was good, as was Lukas, but Smith really worked hard and did very well when left exposed quite often. Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 20:15:58 Btw, what a fucking screamer from Weston!
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Leggett on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 20:23:32 cant wait to see it again tommoro on the football league review...
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 20:39:19 lukas was shite. yes he scored, albeit from a deflection, but did fuck all. I know he's only 17, but surely it shouldn't take him 10 minutes to get back onside once their keeper has cleared the ball

He worked hard, held the ball up well, won the majority of headers and did some good link up play. Shite? Fuck off. Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Leggett on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 20:42:58 i thought he did well, ran his bollocks off, looked dangerous a few times, few nice touches, soem good passes, and yes he was offside once or twice, but how often have the cock and robo done the same this year? quit ya whinging!!!
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: sonic youth on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 21:32:03 smith or timlin for me.
timlin will play for eire, i'm sure of it Title: Man Of The Match Post by: DV on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 21:33:09 Quote from: "Leggett" i thought he did well, ran his bollocks off, looked dangerous a few times, few nice touches, soem good passes, and yes he was offside once or twice, but how often have the cock and robo done the same this year? quit ya whinging!!! plus two of those were NOT offside anyway. He played well, but looked knackered towards the end....but thats 3 full games in less than two weeks... Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Batch on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 21:50:14 Smith edged out timlin for me. Mainly for throwing his body in the way of everything and for cynically pulling back the Rovers player near the end. It had to be done.
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: SwindonStevo on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 22:41:26 jack smith for me, was saying it all through the second half every time he made an ace challenge.
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Summerof69 on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 23:15:29 Jack Smith, Jack Smith and Jack Smith.
Simply our best player by far. Title: Man Of The Match Post by: millom red on Sunday, December 17, 2006, 00:58:26 Smith for me as well. Threw everything in the way when he had to.
Timlin had a good game, breaking play and linking. A great performance for the most part ny all and the atmosphere in the TE was fucking magic. :beers: Millom Title: Man Of The Match Post by: justboiledover on Sunday, December 17, 2006, 01:10:49 agree with herthab on Lukas. Was really impressed with his workrate. He didn't get a lot of decisions that, when he's a little bit older and uglier, he will get. He was often unfairly musceled away from the ball where as when he gave it back he got caught. 17 year olds who work as hard as he does are few and far between.
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: yeo on Sunday, December 17, 2006, 02:52:23 Im interested as to why a 17 year old should be more tired after 3 games than a 27 year old? Surely it should be the other way around?

Surely it should be the other way around? My son's 16 Yeovil and he's always tired... Mind you he does have to go into college for about 20 hours a week (That's classed as full time by the way) and can't get a part time job cos his course is 'Too intense'. Lukas is doing a course at New College as well and he plays football. Poor lad, he must be really knackered! And it's obvious that this college work is the root of the problem. My lad finds it difficult to get up in the morning, let alone play football, so fair play to Lukas for managing to do both! Title: Man Of The Match Post by: ron dodgers on Sunday, December 17, 2006, 09:54:16 a 27 year old has 10 more years of endurance work behind them maybe
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: my-velocity on Sunday, December 17, 2006, 09:58:17 Jack Smith MOTM for me, had a great game. Put alot of blocks in, some good tackles and stayed strong throughout the match
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Frigby Daser on Sunday, December 17, 2006, 12:03:31 I thought Timlin was average in the first half - poor distribution, but did get stuck in. (but that is watching from the TE, never the best for analysing the game) - but started to rule it more in the 2nd half - remember this is the first run he's had in a first team in his favoured position - he will get better and better. If we get grab him from Fulham it'll be a decent signing.
But that takes money, which means Power. Agreed, he did well considering he was upfront on his own. Title: Man Of The Match Post by: adje on Monday, December 18, 2006, 10:44:22 Saw Smith after the game clutching 2 bottles of bubbler-so I guess it was him.
Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Piemonte on Monday, December 18, 2006, 14:33:14 Jack Smith easily MOTM.
Timlin did ok but gave the ball away too much. If he improves his ball retention he could be a very good player at this level. Lukas never scaled the heights of his Wallsall performance, but I didnt think that was going to happen anyway. He did alright though, just wish we would get people closer to the centre forward to try and anticipate flick ons - No-one did it when Peacock was up front either. Title: Man Of The Match Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, December 18, 2006, 14:34:42 As ever, the Adver were way off the mark and gave MOTM to Jutkiewicz.
