Title: SEATS Post by: Give us an S on Saturday, December 16, 2006, 18:18:00 Well what happened was all the people who sit in the top corner of the nationwide stand ran down to the front to intice the rovers fans in the bank. It looked like a few verbals were being dished out and so the police all left the arkells stand.
A rovers fan and swindon fan were having a slagging match and people started to stand up and say 'come on'. The first seat thrown was from the rovers fans. We then threw back what they were throwing and bottles and coins were thrown. Rovers started it but swindon fans were just as bad. Firstly - had a run in before the game - with a bunch of Rovers louts .. who were pushing and barging past anyone that got in their way - the police just stood there and watched it - and did NOTHING! For a start they shoudnt have been allowed in Secondly - saw the seats being thrown over in the Arkells - Rovers started it by chucking the first seat - i guess Swindon supporters found it hard NOT to react - but shouldnt have thrown the seats back at them Thirdly - Rovers were kept in the Arkells but supporters on the Stratton Bank were let out - meaning I had ANOTHER RUN IN - with the Rovers idiots at the end of the game on my way back to the car OVERALL - POORLY POLICED - probably as the club didnt want to pay a large policing bill - there simply werent enough of them I blame Starmes for the whole thing - more police were needed and now the club will get a larger fine as a result Another example of why this board needs to go Title: SEATS Post by: Spud on Sunday, December 17, 2006, 12:27:32 How can they announce that they will be keeping the Rovers fans in at the end of the game and then let the fuckers out of the Stratton Bank?

50/50 just a good thing that the lads at the front didnt come over as that would have been much more messy. Title: SEATS Post by: Arriba on Monday, December 18, 2006, 12:29:43 interesting thread.gutted i missed it.
idiot town fans damaging our own ground though.seems to me to be mainly idiots that front each other at matches, most would run if it was gonna kick off properly. just sounded like the older days at a game really!remember getting coins lobbed at us loads of times(notibally villa and derby springs to mind)and fuck all ever said as it was the norm! footy is far more family orientated now so if lads want to scrap do it away from the ground with people that want to fight.that way innocent people dont get caught up in it Title: SEATS Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, December 18, 2006, 12:34:43 But it was just chavs in the ground arriba.
As posted on their forum, the Rovers casuals were in Swindon but didn't even go to the game and those that did left during the first half 'looking for a fight'. The adver reports today that 30-40 Rovers were in The Merlin whilst the game was on. Title: SEATS Post by: Amir on Monday, December 18, 2006, 12:40:29 Derby at the Baseball Ground, arriba? I went there in about 94 and they spent the whole game trying to get coins through the fence at us. I was also offered out by an 11 year old(through the fence), who looked like he'd wet himself when a watching copper told him off. The bad old days eh :D

Title: SEATS Post by: Spencer_White on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, 12:34:20 I think that camera up on the left hand support post is from the post Heysel laws in 1985.
Ive often thought of asking for copies of the ground CCTV, but as Wheeler said, Ive been told its such poor quality and such a shambles not to bother. Yeah, Ive seen that clip of Swansea. That used to happen a lot to Reading. Teams would turn up and just go mental. Bristol City rioted there in 1984. Title: SEATS Post by: fatbury on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, 19:32:18 because the board is completely out of touch with the fans or reality .. if Bristol hadnt been given any seats at all on Saturday and just the Stratton Bank .. didnt the club decide against housing fans in stratton bank unless the need arose due to fears for visiting fans health during shite weather, some time ago? Secondly, thanks to a few spastics, season ticket holders in that area of Arkells are to be consulted over a move away from that area well done the spastics, victory to you again. :wanker: Title: SEATS Post by: Chubbs on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 00:03:12 Quote from: "louavo" 2 things didnt the club decide against housing fans in stratton bank unless the need arose due to fears for visiting fans health during shite weather, some time ago? Title: SEATS Post by: Spencer_White on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 00:48:29 Im glad the club was satisfied with the ticketing arrangements.
Ive heard that the Arkells away allocation was oversold AGAIN. We had the same with Hereford earlier this year. There is a steward's view under the Adver story. The club needs to work out how many seats are actually in the North stand away end and stick to it. As regards the new segregation, sounds like a convienient way not to replace the seats to me.
