When i went past the Bulldog at 1:45pm i knew there was going to be trouble, there were loads of Worzels standing outside.

We came out of the Walkabout at 2:05pm and some Worzel twats who were in the Bedroom started doing wanker signs at us, we just laughed and then the coppers started pointing at them to tell them to STFU.

They probably heard that the club had some redevelopment planes, and they thought they'd help out and start ripping out the seats !!!

But they are bloody hooligans.

There were a few Rovers 'fans' in the blue section in the Arkells, and the police came to escort them out opf the ground a few minutes later.

At the start of their 'walk of shame' they were 1-0 up, by the time they left they were 2-1 down. :soapy tit wank:

Well what happened was all the people who sit in the top corner of the nationwide stand ran down to the front to intice the rovers fans in the bank. It looked like a few verbals were being dished out and so the police all left the arkells stand.

A rovers fan and swindon fan were having a slagging match and people started to stand up and say 'come on'. The first seat thrown was from the rovers fans. We then threw back what they were throwing and bottles and coins were thrown. Rovers started it but swindon fans were just as bad.

Fucking stupid twats.

I was listening to the radio on the way home and it said that a pregnant woman and her children had to be escorted by police away from the trouble.

If cunts like these want to start something, why don't they arrange to meet away from the ground and let the rest of us concentrate on what's happening on the pitch.

Maybe because they know that away from the stewards and OB they might get hurt.

Sad pricks....................

Anyone who uses the phrase 'fans' or "fans" or 'so called fans' are quite frankly in denial.

Until you know someone one on one you cant make a judgement on anyone.

In the sands of time there are probably been Swindon fans who have murdered people. Swindon fans who have done the most henious of crimes. But you cant say that doesnt make them a Swindon fan. Last time I checked you didnt have to be ordained a saint to get a season ticket.

People who use the terms 'fans' to describe trouble at football matches are whores to the media and mouthpieces of the idiot culture that labels someone as this or that without ever using their own brains. Doesnt make chucking chairs right. But it does make those who condemn them look like utter fools.

I didn't use 'fans', or "fans",

I think I called them twats........

I don't give a fuck if they want to act like that, anywhere other than in the ground doesn't mean much to me (Unless it's outside my house!)

All I'm concerned about is how it affects the club.

Ok, it was an isolated incident and I don't want to make it bigger than it was, but:

Can we afford a fine?

How will it look to potential investors, or sponsors?

Will it be detrimental to attendances?

I'm not saying any of the above will be affected, I'm just speculating........

From my viewpoint

Firstly - had a run in before the game - with a bunch of Rovers louts .. who were pushing and barging past anyone that got in their way - the police just stood there and watched it - and did NOTHING! For a start they shoudnt have been allowed in

Secondly - saw the seats being thrown over in the Arkells - Rovers started it by chucking the first seat - i guess Swindon supporters found it hard NOT to react - but shouldnt have thrown the seats back at them

Thirdly - Rovers were kept in the Arkells but supporters on the Stratton Bank were let out - meaning I had ANOTHER RUN IN - with the Rovers idiots at the end of the game on my way back to the car

OVERALL - POORLY POLICED - probably as the club didnt want to pay a large policing bill - there simply werent enough of them

I blame Starmes for the whole thing - more police were needed and now the club will get a larger fine as a result

Another example of why this board needs to go

How can they announce that they will be keeping the Rovers fans in at the end of the game and then let the fuckers out of the Stratton Bank?

You missed the best bit....leaving the Nationwide stand as one of the last people as usual, looking at an empty ground the annoucement come over 'we would like to thank the bristol rovers fans for staying steated' the bank was empty.

Should have kicked them out after 85 minutes...

We all knew there was going to be a bit of trouble. Although the outcome was alot worse than I thought  :?  I guess thats football really. Obviously the people that took part in the chair throwing are complete dickheads, selfish and stupid. Get a grip. Your not an extra in fucking greenstreet now. What a disgrace. Both sets of fans were as bad as one another with all that stuff.
Anyway we showed them up on the pitch and thats the main thing.

A lot of us have seen worse than what happened yesterday, I think this has got a bit out of hand, and needs to be forgotten.  Harsh how the old lady got hit or hurt and teh rovers lads should have looked after her better.

50/50 just a good thing that the lads at the front didnt come over as that would have been much more messy.

interesting thread.gutted i missed it.
idiot town fans damaging our own ground though.seems to me to be mainly idiots that front each other at matches, most would run if it was gonna kick off properly.
just sounded like the older days at a game really!remember getting coins lobbed at us loads of times(notibally villa and derby springs to mind)and fuck all ever said as it was the norm!
footy is far more family orientated now so if lads want to scrap do it away from the ground with people that want to fight.that way innocent people dont get caught up in it

But it was just chavs in the ground arriba.

As posted on their forum, the Rovers casuals were in Swindon but didn't even go to the game and those that did left during the first half 'looking for a fight'.

The adver reports today that 30-40 Rovers were in The Merlin whilst the game was on.

Derby at the Baseball Ground, arriba?  I went there in about 94 and they spent the whole game trying to get coins through the fence at us.  I was also offered out by an 11 year old(through the fence), who looked like he'd wet himself when a watching copper told him off.   The bad old days eh :D

Hahaha can't beat a bit of festive coin dodging. Fair play to the Rovers headcase who started marching across the netting!
What with Millwall coming back t'other way, could be a few feisty encounters around Town tonight, poor coppers.

I think that camera up on the left hand support post is from the post Heysel laws in 1985.

Ive often thought of asking for copies of the ground CCTV, but as Wheeler said, Ive been told its such poor quality and such a shambles not to bother.

Yeah, Ive seen that clip of Swansea. That used to happen a lot to Reading. Teams would turn up and just go mental. Bristol City rioted there in 1984.

because the board is completely out of touch with the fans or reality .. if Bristol hadnt been given any seats at all on Saturday and just the Stratton Bank .. NONE OF THIS would have happened .. just move the away fans to SB from now on when there is a large crowd expected - surely easier

2 things

didnt the club decide against housing fans in stratton bank unless the need arose due to fears for visiting fans health during shite weather, some time ago?

Secondly, thanks to a few spastics, season ticket holders in that area of Arkells are to be consulted over a move away from that area

well done the spastics, victory to you again. :wanker:

Im glad the club was satisfied with the ticketing arrangements.

Ive heard that the Arkells away allocation was oversold AGAIN. We had the same with Hereford earlier this year. There is a steward's view under the Adver story. The club needs to work out how many seats are actually in the North stand away end and stick to it.

As regards the new segregation, sounds like a convienient way not to replace the seats to me.
