Like Jensen Button won a single F1 grand prix..... Title: Sports "Personality" Post by: hansgruber on Sunday, December 10, 2006, 21:04:18 Phil Taylor is a 13-time world champion, and yet Phillips wins for riding a horse? Crazy. Also, she didn't seem to have much of a personality

Title: Sports "Personality" Post by: McLovin on Monday, December 11, 2006, 11:45:28 My top 3 would have been:
Calzaghe Tweddle Hatton Title: Sports "Personality" Post by: mattboyslim on Monday, December 11, 2006, 11:51:59 I would have
Calzaghe Clarke Hatton The highest sustained achievers in their sports except Phil Taylor, but he plays a pub sport. Title: Sports "Personality" Post by: Northern Red on Monday, December 11, 2006, 13:14:14 Zara Phillips.... the only person who could make David Beckham's acceptance speech in 2001 sound intelligent.
Amazing :) I don't see what's so wrong with her winning though. She's only the 3rd person in the history of her sport to be European and World Champion at the same time. And she's got the sympathy bit (*not as much as Clarke) as she missed her best friends funeral (rider killed by horse) to ride in the World Championship. Plus everyone knows who she is, and most of the country would  Darren Clarke - sympathy vote, 3 good games of golf in an otherwise unspectacular year for him. Should've been able to receive the team of the year though... Phone bills will be huge in St Helens. Tweddle - best Brit in her sport for years - but pffftt. Button - 1 win in 107 races is not good - he'll have better chance next year. Monty - a few good matches, but pffttt, future winner? Calzageeeee - should've already won it. In my top 3. The rest....pffftt....... I'm bored now.
