Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Fred Elliot on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:24:48 In response to fat boy Gazza's previous post I just wanted to say ;
That I thought they were ace No problems with us handing out the revoloution leaflets, was chatting to one for ages before the game about what influence fans could have over a club, his words were ; Players go Sponsors go Managers go Boards go FANS FUCKING DONT ! (his words - not mine) Great stewards ............................. pity the fans are a waste of time ! Go and support Reading if thats the best they can do, I for one was embarrassed for you. For fuck sake, they were leaving with 15 mins to go ! PLASTIC Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:30:38 The Walsall fans are a fucking joke, take this one for example
Quote from: "Walsall Fan" What ****** me off the most was swindons fans. They were quiet all game (only song 'can we sing a song for you' - very original, when there was plenty of noise on our end). Then 1-0 they thought they were at anfield or something. Can you say 'you only sing when your winning?' Eh? I only heard them once during the game and thought our support was very vocal. Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Fred Elliot on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:33:25 They were pathetic
we completely outclassed them today Even the "christmas shopping" song got a mention on the radio Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Red Len on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:37:05 Quite. Was that Walsall fan at the same match? Admittedly when your in amongst it you can't be too sure how loud you actually are, but I for one sang my knackers off today as did everyone around me.
Sour eggs methinks. Plastic indeed. Was expecting a bit more from them today. "You should've gone Xmas shopping". Class 8) Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Fred Elliot on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:38:19 My old man called me at half time and said we sounded immense
Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: DV on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:40:28 I agree with the steward part.
Comeplete contrast to Mansfield. Let us stand, let us sing. We were even stood in the yellow hatched area...let us through to do the flags no problem. They just let us get on with being fans. Didnt you hear much ? You should have turned the snooker down a touch ! :wink: Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Leggett on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:54:16 :soapy tit wank: that was fucking ace. best away day for quite some time!!!
Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Fred Elliot on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 21:57:21 Aceness
Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: herthab on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 22:01:47 Stewards were good IN the ground.
Pity about the fuckwits outside. I asked one if the turnstile I was queing outside of was cash, he said yeah there all the same and when we got to the front, another steward said my lad couldn't go through, as concessions were all through another one. We then had to join a fucking mile long line, after already queing for 45 minutes! It was worth it though :D Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Fred Elliot on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 22:04:57 :soapy tit wank: 8)
Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: stfc_steve on Sunday, December 10, 2006, 08:43:39 i thought the following was superb yesterday
Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: STFC_Gazza on Sunday, December 10, 2006, 10:56:32 The stewards were ace, they let us stand wherever and never got arsey at all. Spoke to one near the corner flag and he said that he was juts a fan as well so.... Had no problems with them even the OB had a bit of banter. They knew we weren't going to cause any problems. Surprised I never got ejected for shakin Mark Kinsella's hand and disrupting the game or something daft! Great day BRING ON THE ROVERS!

Maybe if the mics were closer to the away fans... Walsall were quiet all game. Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Sade on Sunday, December 10, 2006, 22:10:06 Does anyone actually know how many we took up?
Our fans were once again superb. Walsall are bitter, not only did we show their football team up but we totally outclassed them vocally too :wink: Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Spud on Sunday, December 10, 2006, 23:05:17 A Walsall perspective from a forum:-
Walsall 0-2 Swindon. Crap attendance. Crap support. Crap performance. Crap match. Crap result. It was a bit crap, and it was cold. Swindon deserved it by far, and just goes to show that if teams keep the ball on the floor, run at us and don't just hoof it they can quite easily get past us. Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: Spencer_White on Monday, December 11, 2006, 13:11:31 He hasnt realised that Walsall are simply a crap club then. Nothing about them.
Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: mattboyslim on Monday, December 11, 2006, 13:17:00 Definately true on the stewards, very reasonable given the lively and drunk nature of our support. The Walsall lads in the pub beofrehand said he hoped we'd make some noise as their fans had been silent all season.
Title: Stewards at Walsall Post by: fatbury on Monday, December 11, 2006, 13:22:41 Only my 2nd awayday of the season - the other was the win at Chester - another excellent day out!
Overall - facilities superb - stewards superb - walsall fans friendly - STFC crowd awesumly loud - And to cap it all Pook came on as sub :soapy tit wank: Parked the car just outside the exit - got home by 1830 without breaking the speed limit - must be a record for an away game - even the Bristol games take me longer than that! |
