Title: Trust meeting Monday night Post by: Fred Elliot on Friday, December 8, 2006, 16:03:11 Just a brief reminder that the next Trust members' meeting has now been set for Monday December 11th at the GW Bar on Station Rd in Swindon starting at 7.30 pm. Regular attendees please note the change of venue and that we've moved from the 1st to the 2nd Monday in the month - neither are permanent changes, just Christmas bookings meant we couldn't get our regular venue or the night we wanted. As ever, non-members are welcome to attend, so if you have a curious friend who would like to come along, please bring them.
Also, by way of an update, I'm pleased to say fans continue to vote with their feet in endorsing the moves the Trust has taken in recent weeks. At the time of writing, we now have well over 750 members, and this continues to grow (literally) by the day. So a big thank you to everyone who has helped recruit members and welcome to our newest members - congratulations, you're now part of the largest STFC fans' organisation! Hope to see you at the game tomorrow or at the Members' meeting on Monday Both members and non members welcome (could anyone give me a lift please :? ) Title: Trust meeting Monday night Post by: mattboyslim on Friday, December 8, 2006, 16:09:16 Quote As ever, non-members are welcome to attend, so if you have a curious friend who would like to come along, please bring them. I suspect curious frinds should be directed to the mailcoach fred, I'd like to think the trust didn't attract that crowd. Title: Trust meeting Monday night Post by: mattboyslim on Friday, December 8, 2006, 18:16:14 I think tonights latest round of boardroom tosh has probably given me an incentive to weander down the hill for this. With 750 members the trust is now beginning to look like a very credible force, with good backing. out of interest chaps what membership do other trusts have, obviously this has a bearing on crowd size, but interesting to see how significant our trust is compared to other clubs.
Title: Trust meeting Monday night Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, December 8, 2006, 18:20:45 Can we move it to Tuesday? I'll get into Swindon station at about 6 so this would be ace. Monday is no good because I have an exam the next day which at the moment I am on course to fail.

Win the media, win the war Yes I'd agree with that if we get some big publicity then it can only help, if Saturday goes well and theres a sea of Orange cant see there being too much of a problem getting pictures in the press. This board will have to realise we have a big pain threshold and will out do them, any fan that can sit through years of the King era can take on anyone and win :beers: Title: Trust meeting Monday night Post by: Fred Elliot on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 17:17:21 Wasnt meant as any form of critisism Rob, its just the whole consortium thing has got the swell of public opinion now and I said at the last Trust board meeting that we need to harness that and "ride the wave" so to speak.
I know the Adver are in a difficult position and must be seen to be neutral and impartial but there are ways and means in my opinion. There are some hard facts flying about out there that the local media are well aware of, and I for one would dearly love to see a little bit of balls. We can wait and wait for countless spin from SN1 but there will come a time where action speaks loudest. Mark my words I will be the first in the queue at the gates of CG when that day arrives Title: Trust meeting Monday night Post by: Spud on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 17:43:56 I don't think there will be much of a sea of Orange on Saturday due to most of the t-shirts not arriving, ive seen the amount of crap were getting through at work and i for one am not hopeful of getting mine before Saturday.

Definately the right choice of colour, a year or so ago when we played Bristol City in a 7.45ko (possibly in the LDV) there was a bloke on the bank in a sainsburys fleece and he stood out like a sore thumb. Instead, I'm going for a slightly less obvious dark orange t-shirt, which will probably be covered by a jacket or two if the weather is anything like it was last saturday. Sorry I couldn't make it, bit of a long way to go see. Sounds like you made some good progress and I'll take a look a the 'manifesto' and minutes in a bit. Does Fred do the minutes? If so, could he share the secret of how he manages to write them and get the Chair's approval less than 24 hours after the meeting? Its taken me over a month for the lot I've just done (although it was a three day meeting..). Yes its me mate Its a classic case of no sleep and plenty of Pro-Plus (yawn) |
