Good news IMHO, I've no idea how you could work it, maybe best second/third placers going through. I think twenty teams is good, have groups of 5 with the top 2 through, make the group stages more of a challenge with more guaranteed games for all teams. Title: Bigger Euros? Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Friday, December 8, 2006, 14:41:21 Quote The idea of an expanded European Championships was put to Uefa by the Scottish Football Association with support from the Republic of Ireland, Latvia and Sweden Been discussed by scotland fans recently as it came from us. General consensus was that it is fine as it is. Dont want to make it too easy to qualify otherwise you might as well just invite all 52 countries in. Maybe expand it to 20 teams and have 4 lots of 5 team groups at the final in a uefa cup group styleeTitle: Bigger Euros? Title: Bigger Euros? Post by: Bartek on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 18:17:54 FuCK !!! If they were 24 teams in euro 2012 , chances of poland and ukraine to organize tournament would be less....and
fucking Spaghetti would tryumph again !!! Title: Bigger Euros? Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 18:24:42 It's a good idea to be fair, means Scotland and Wales might qualify occasionally for a change. They can't seem to manage it often at the moment.
Title: Bigger Euros? Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, December 9, 2006, 20:14:20 Shit idea....to be fair. In football terms more normally means less. Its just a a way of getting more TV revenue.
In 76, which was reckoned to be the last truly classic Euro.....the finals consisted of 8 teams .....straight knockout....over in a week....Czechs beat the Huns....on pens..Huns made sure such a thing would never happen again. Title: Bigger Euros? Post by: lebowski on Sunday, December 10, 2006, 13:09:05 can't for the life of me think why scotland might want the european championships to have more teams in it...
