Looking through wikipedia I didn't find any well-known players in Walsall squad . Only Mark Kinsella is known for me , but he is almost in Christ age , so I think he can't be so dangerous  :soapy tit wank: . I have heard or read somwhere also about Tony Beadu from Grenada . Althought he plays in Grenada national football team , I believe he won't hurt you...

Unfortunately his last game is against us, will probably want to go out on a high so bit of a nightmare, but his departure is a big boost for this season as hopefully him leaving Walsall will have a negative effect on there results  :D

I think we can definately rule out the Championship for next season. Unless the FA see the error of their past and give us a double promotion......

 Think, at the moment for us, its right back to basics.  Namely trying to play in some kind of coherent fashion, whereby you pass to a player in the same colour shirt, press the ball when not in posession, mark an opponent at set plays etc

  Its only by starting to get these right, that we'll stop a slide down the table.

When I played on CM3 , it was four teams :-)...I remember when I won promotion from Conference playing Cheltenham , I have always promoted again in the next season !! I had a great goal machine - Dale Watkins . Anybody heard about him ?

We have the players, the large majoirty have done it at a higher level.

Very few of our players have 'done it' at a higher level, and those that have are in the twilight of their careers.

Notice that Williams, Evans & Peacock was the spine of the team at the start of the season and isnt now!

Jack Smith - Played a handful of times for Watford, wouldn't say that was cutting it at a higher level.
Williams - Still reasonable at this level, most definately in the twilight years though.
Ifil - Had he played at all before he joined us?
Nicho - Has only ever played for us.
Evans - See Williams
Peacock - Twilight years.
Roberts - Fair enough, getting towards the end of his career. Never been the same since the drink problem.
Brown - Fair enough, but he's shit now.

I expect that you're including most of these players due to the play-off season. Yes, they were in the team. A team carried by Parkin and Mooney.

Williams - Played at Championship level with Reading, Wolves and Coventry
Ifil - was awesome here on loan for our play off season
Nicholas - was very good in our play off season
Evans - years of expirence in higher leagues
Peacock - 15+ goals every season season for Bristol City
Roberts - around 10 goals every season for Bristol City
Brown - Played in a very good Bristol City side

As true as that may be, there is a very good reason for them playing for a League 2 side this year. And a few of them not making a good job of that!

I'm not saying that isnt the case....

....but surely some of them are better than league two, their previous record suggests so...

Maybe that's one of the problems?

Not enough effort and from what Sturrocks been saying, a lot of them don't feel they need to listen to the manager.

As i've said, most are on the wane due to age/alcohol/apathy/generally not giving a fuck.

My point was, only 3 of them are over 30....so none of them should be past it.....infact going on average age and all that most of our players still havent peaked. As footballers arent supposed to till they are 26+

Nicholas has aged from 20 to 23 (??) since our play off season, hardly the age where you start getting worse....

Tbf, i never said we had loads of players who were over the hill, just that most of the 'proven-at-a-higher-level' players we have are 30+.

Deev,I tend to agree with you but it is possible that they "cut it at a higher level" because they had better players around them-always important.On the evidence that I've seen they(with the exception of Evans and Williams)have all looked absolutely average.
