Mansfield scored 30 seconds in or whatever and they start gobbing off so I gave it back and gave them the wanker sign and the old bill moved in 2 of them and escorted me down a tunnel to eject me and I asked what the problem was and "he says you know what you done"

He replies giving wanker signs and insighting (sp) the crowd? gesturing etc etc WTF????

The O.B then go on saying its an arrestable offence under the football act

I almost laughed to be honest but thought better of it.

Seriously though it is typical of the police in this country .. and they wonder why there is no respect for the law these days.

Could it be because there is no common sense policing? The police are there to uphold the law but these days most of them think they are ABOVE the law

I had a run in at West Brom quite a few years back - I had a ticket for the match (bought in advance) but they wouldnt let me in at the turnstile where they were only taking money - So the steward said "wait there whilst I sort it out" - I was stood by an open metal gate - along came a copper and slammed it shut - luckily a passer by pushed me out the way as he did otherwise it would have smashed into my face and leg. I automatically called him a fucking prick - and he wanted to take my details - luckily the steward came back at that point and let me in - and the copper just walked off!

From that day on I lost all respect for police at football - they simply dont understand the game

In all seriousness Gaz a friends brother got a 3 year banning order at Chelski for doing the same thing, despite the rest of the crowd doing the same. He may have got off with a warning/ejection but chose to argue the point.

My theory is he looks a bit hard so they singled him out. Not sure why they picked on you though :)

It was almost the highlight of the night.

The only thing that topped it was Mansfield cheering when their official attendence was read out as about 2,000

I've given some thought to this (and my head hurts) and think it wanders into simile teritory.
Obviously to be a simile it has to comparable, so if you'd said

"Thugs like Gary are the jizz stain on our national sport"

Then that would definately be a metaphor you are mixing together 2 different objects to describe one as the other.

By adding in the "on the black t-shirt that is our" you make it comparable you seperate out the to objects in the statement ('gary and football' and 'jizz stain and black t-shirt'), and basically make it a pleasent sounding rewording of "Gary is like a jizz stain on a black T-shirt"

Thinking about it though it's more than possible that I've just spouted a load of poo and you can dissect any metaphor in that way. I gave it a good shot though and for that I'm proud. I wonder why I only got a C in my GCSE English.

I think it's a metaphor and a metonymy.

The metaphor is the direct comparison between 'the thugs' and 'the jizz stain'; and 'the black t-shirt' and the state/nature of 'our national sport'. All are the same, not like each other. Not all thugs are like Gary, therfore this is describing the type of thug that is comparible with the other things.

'Our national sport' in this case refers to football which in it's widest sense is a worldwide sport played in many different divisions and countries. This is similar to how people refer to STFC and it's associates as 'Newbury'.
