Title: the orange revolution
Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Thursday, November 30, 2006, 14:43:26
im claiming this idea as i have started this thread :D

starting at rovers at home we need supporters to wear or bring something orange, to show our dissaproval of the current boards antics.

The only thing I have that is orange is an orange. Will that do? Can't say it'll make it past half time though.

Oi this was my idea you bastard!!!

Anyway the important thing is that I agree, let's start with the rovers game, and continue to wear something orange until we see the trust take over, could be a long wait, but we will win comrades!

I think an orange ribbon would be the best symbol, but anything orange would do!!!

I'm going to wear a purple cat suit in protest at the underlying tones of commie-ness in this dutch protest against the board.

I blame, in this order

1. Communists
2. The liberal dutch
3. Hippies

Right behind the idea it's a quality shout, anyone in the trust make t shirts up that we could distribute 'just outside the county ground premises of course' all orange with something backing the consortium  8)

One vital problem, orange is the colour of SBC, not an organisation I'm happy to be allied to.  In fact self promotion, cluelessness and ignorance are common traits they share with elements of STFC.

Post by: janaage on Thursday, November 30, 2006, 15:39:00
The orange has nothing to do with SBC, it's merely a colour not normally worn by sane people, so if you see womeone with an orange ribbon on you can tell they support the trust and not the current board.

"Badly dressed people for the Fans' Consortium" - could we get Trinny and Susannah as technical advisors?

Please note you don't have to wear orange trousers, shirt, or anything outrageous, a little orange ribbon would do.

Have a look at the ukrainians, the wore arm bands, ribbons, scarves etc.

Ah, but orange is no longer the SBC brand.

It's now a sort of purple:

As decreed by the new Leader of the Council.

Sounds like it's the right colour then if it offends so many, surely the best colour to show our displeasure.

Stick with orange fella's, the whole point is that it's nowt to do with STFC, the trust Bill Power's pants, nothing.  The point is that we are wearing a ghastly colour to highlight the fact that we, the ordinary supporters support the trust and their consortium.

Roll on the Rovers match!!

I was just thinking of sticking some signs to it.....a few anti board ones and maybe a sign saying "if you think this is colourful, you should have heard the language your mum was screaming last night!"

Serious idea here:

Considering the time of year.

http://www.europeanwear.com/acatalog/hw3025.gif
http://www.europeanwear.com/acatalog/plain_safety_cap.html

Price:  (144 or more pcs) £1.15

If the Trust was to buy in bulk and re-sell at £2.50 they'd be making a small profit (£1.35 per hat), people would be able to show their support for the new consortium while staying warm at matches during the winter.

I still think we could do something like what Newcastle did last week, obviously the Club wont supply scarfs but if you've got one take it to Walsall and swing it around like a Loon.
