Thats a shame I thought he would have been a good player for us this year.

GURNEY would have been good this year. He was as top bloke to me wont forget us down in Ibiza this year when he was drunk, put his arm around me and said "mate I met a girl the other day at Specsavers, Her name was Sarah YEAH!!!"

Good luck Gurney, You infurtiated me with your ridiculous passing and shooting but good luck for the future.

Will never forget the day I saw O'hanlon and Gurney speed through red lights at Coate water roundabout, O'hanlon driving while banned as well.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but a genuine trier, frustrating with his shooting, but that free kick at leeds is a top 5 moment for me watching swindon.  Good luck to him, retiring was quite an effort to avoid bumping into Hewlett at the game tomorrow though!

Me too. Also that Free-kick at Plymouth and at Tranmere in 2002/03 season. Also that backpass that nearly lobbed Evans last season against Brentford at home will stick in my memory.

Agreed. Theres a lot to be said for lower league teams having a psycopath to intimidate the other team.

I for one won't miss him and his stupid bookings and suspensions.

Gutted - I loved his 100 percent effort even if his shots and play were misguided at times .. wouldve been good in League 2 .. sad to see it all end too quickly.

What's next for Gurns? Bouncer? Brickie? I'm reckon a career in Hollywood, as the new and improved version of Vinnie Jones

his attempts at playing the quaterback role did me head in BUT he gave a fuck and that should mean a lot to the club and fans.

I think you might be refering to the cheltenham away game bushey when we were singing to the lot of them "you're not fit to wear the shirt". He then turned to us and started gobbing off at us! I was'nt chuffed at the time.
All i can say is that if more of those player's had shown the same sort of fire in the belly type passion more often, we would'nt be where we are now.

Not the best player to wear the shirt, but no-one could question his commitment.

I liked Gurns because at least he showed a bit of spirit and passion. Loved some of his reckless challenges.

But he is fucking crap. Should free up some money for PS to get someone else in.

Obviously this is sad news but I never liked him and certainly don't consider it a loss.

However no-one should be forced from their trade, however pathetically the sometimes went about it, so hopefully he'll find a new passion in life. Presumably more appropriately channelled than ploughing Mrs Hewlett.
