Title: Retro TV
Post by: Ginginho on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, 09:47:40
We have had a discussion at work this morning about old TV shows and what your favourites were.
I have done a day of what I would consider a good Retro TV viewing  8)

Morning
Whackaday
Inspector Gadget
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
He-Man
Danger Mouse
Rentaghost
Superted
Bananaman

Lunch -> early evening
Take Hart
Thundercats
Grange Hill
Scooby Doo
The Really Wild Show
Ghostbusters
Treasure Hunt
Fun House
A-Team

Evening
Strike It Lucky
Noels House Party
Family Fortunes
You Bet

I'm sure there are loads of others I have missed and go "Oh yeah, how could I have forgotten that".

They should create a Retro TV channel with shows like this, not the crap they keep putting on UK Gold.

knightmares coming back to challenge on november 20th. 7am again. Unfortunately I no longer have challenge so I can't watch it. Think it's gonna be one of the later series which aren't as good. Still good to keep on such things.

Ivor the Engine and The Clangers. And the Singing Ringing Tree which used to be on every school holidays and for some reason frightened the shit out of me when I was about six. I don't think I understood it properly so I'd like to see it again to see if it really was scary.

Family Fortunes is class, they've just taken our NTL away so I can't watch it on Challenge TV anymore. I didn't realise how often they came out with stupid answers. Les in his prime is a joy to watch too.

Sharkey & George ?

WTF?!?!?

TJ Hooker was good, as was CHIPS, and for pure randomness 3-2-1 - had to love it when the fuckwits won the bin.

Could also have re-runs of Saint and Greavsie on a Saturday lunchtime

I assume Time Tunnel is the Irwin Allen vehicle of the 60's, proper class.....Allen produced some great Sci Fi shlock...like Lost in Space....Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

I've posted loads on old shows can't be bothered tpo think about any more.

Quiz Ball was wonderful......spawning as it did the key English phrase... route one

That was an ace theme tune. And Rude Dog and the Dweebs.

By the way it was Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, the Ninja turtles were the film version.

My favourite cartoons as a kid were Darstardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines, Batfink and Count Duckula.

It was only called hero turtles in this country becauase of some bizarre cencorship laws at the time, ninjas were to violent for a kiddies show or someething. It was called ninja turtles in the rest of the world.
