Title: Nice work if ... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 19:47:38 ......you can get it.
Luggy got 200K pay off from the Wendys, then a four year contract with us about a week later. I feel a slight irony that the straw that caused Luggy's exit from Wednesday was a 4-0 drubbing by a Cureton inspired ColU.....at least the little shit did something for us. PS Sturrock was a seriously good player.....in a time when teh Sweaties still produced a lot of talent, even if the national team never got past the first round of a WC. Title: Nice work if ... Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 20:42:39 Aye, I remember Dundee United being a very decent side in the early 80's when he was thier main man. Them and Aberdeen actually provided a bit of competition for the Old Firm.

They won the league in 82/83, Luggy was their star man......probably the last time neither Auld Firm side won it. Was it Jim McLean managing...he always seemed a hard bastard...in that Scottish way. Some bloke called Ferguson was in charge of Aberdeen (not sure what happened to him, I must look it up).
I just remembered the name of Dundee United's goalkeeper - Hamish McAlpine - You couldn't make it up! I seem to remember he used to be their penalty taker as well. Title: Nice work if ... Post by: millom red on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, 02:38:38 Was'ny Hamish McAlpine in Monarch of the Glenn?
