Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: STFC4LIFE on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 15:02:30 Wonder what it will be after this, I should hope it will go up and with reduced tickets maybe around 6000?
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: DerbyRed on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 15:14:33 Well I wasn't planning to go due to finances, but because of this news I've managed to persuade my old man to go and pay for my ticket!! Also dragging the mrs along - so there's 3 more than there would have been for a start!! :P
I reckon 6,500ish - Carlisle will bring 500+ I'd imagine - their away support always impresses me considering the geographical position of the club! Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 15:15:52 Wont be there for the new beginnins unfortunately:( still, I expect a fairly good crowd for this one.
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: bigbobjoylove on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 15:20:36 6,500 sounds about right, maybe a tad less.
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: swindon_chick on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 16:55:08 If Carlisle bring 500+ I will be very suprised!
Can't see there being much more than 6,500 myself, but time will tell!! Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 17:07:16 5000 would be good....FA Cup attendances used to be high, but the greed league has more or less killed it off....another downer was the ten days rule between replays.
Last time we drew Carlisle we were also in Div 4 they were going well in Div 2. We drew at Brunton on the Sat and mullered them 3-1 on the Tuesday...in front of 8000+.....when you consider our average gate for that season was 3500, it shows how the cup could capture imaginations. As well as lowering the cost, the club should have stated that any ticket stub would give you priority if we happened to draw somebody like Chelsea. Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 17:38:32 I would say 6400 ish
A few will drop off because of the recent results but Sturrock being here will hopefully pull in a few more faces Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: DMR on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 20:08:10 4,700

Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: herthab on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 20:17:28 7500. Just under 7000 at the weekend and with the arrival of Luggy and the reduced prices, I think we'll get a reasonable turnout.
Second thoughts, 7499 (Just read Yeovils post). Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: Sade on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 20:47:34 7,100.

Hopefully there will be a good atmosphere to welcome Sturrock
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, 09:25:13 I reckon Carlisle will bring a fair few down with them. They're like Plymouth in that most of their games involve a ridiculous amount of travelling but have really good support (nutters in other words)
For all of that I will say.....err........7,253. Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: ron dodgers on Thursday, November 9, 2006, 14:44:03 more than six as I picked up six ticklets the other day
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: janaage on Thursday, November 9, 2006, 15:04:04 6655.

Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: Bartek on Sunday, November 12, 2006, 13:08:19 Hehe..I saw photos from yesterday game....You've got great stadium , but why it was so empty ? :)
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, November 12, 2006, 13:14:42 It's because everybody watches Premiership football on television instead of watching their local teams. Football attendances aren't as big as they used to be before football became such a commercial success.
That said it was the FA cup, which as a result of the above, has lost its magic because people want to watch Champions League on television and not a 'mickey mouse' cup. Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: Bartek on Sunday, November 12, 2006, 13:45:48 but well...Haven't Swindon got true fans who go to watch all Robins games ? You played with Carlise - the team from the division which is higher than yours....There should have been much more supporters...

Quite a lot of our 'fans' only come when the team is playing well. The previous two games were defeats. Added to that, this was our third home game in a row, so finances obviously come into play for some. Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: STFC_Gazza on Sunday, November 12, 2006, 13:52:56 To be fair though, its 3 weeks at home on the trot a lot of people couldnt afford it.
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: Bartek on Sunday, November 12, 2006, 13:56:27 Yep the tickets are extremelly high there and I know the costs of living as well...When I was on the trip to London in 2001 , I was amazed that simple hot-dog costs 2 pounds !!! Here you would get it for 0,5 pound - 50 pennies
Title: Attendance on Saturday Post by: jamie75 on Sunday, November 12, 2006, 21:32:13 The attendance was disappointing but that was due to the reasons above (3 games in a row etc) also it was the 1st round of the competition.
People who didn't go missed out because that was the best of the last 3 home games. |
