Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: Panda Paws on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 14:45:59 All seemed good apart from finding out Peacock was off ill today.
Could be reading too much into this, but is the fella unhappy about the new manager? We all know they had problems at Wendy ... Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: Piemonte on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 14:48:52 A source close to the club told me he spent today getting a tattoo of paul sturrock on his back in an attempt to smooth over any previous problems

Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: Panda Paws on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 14:52:51 Quote from: "Tails" 2+2=5 Maybe. But still worth pointing out properly. We know they've had past problems ... I think it adds up to about 4 and a half really ;-) Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: janaage on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 14:57:01 I'm not really that bothered if Peacock doesn't fit in with Luggy's plans, I feel like I can use his nickname now he's officially on board.
Lee hasn't set the world alight this season and I'm sure that Luggy won't get rid until a suitable replacement is found. Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: Batch on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 15:09:13 There may be no problem.
If there is Peacock should continue to work his nuts off for the manager anyway to put it right or put himself in the shop window. Same could be said with Roberts with his 11 goals in his 62 games. If Peacock (or Roberts) left and we brought in a younger, more prolific striker then so be it. Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: Frigby Daser on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 15:15:04 Hows about Andy Caton for a run up top? Nobody's mentioed that - hasn't got the strength Lukas has, but he's skillful and got the pace. Reckon its worth a shout

Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 15:20:46 I couldn't believe Andy Caton was featured in the "Boys Abit Special" section of FourFourTwo this month.
I was impressed with Caton's return this season. Hopefully he can stay fit when he returns again. Maybe Jutkiewicz should go to a conference club on loan. However Sturrock's sides often do not have out and out prolific goal scorers so maybe one of the two will survive. Can't see both being first choice come January. Would love to see Sturrock's face when he claps eyes on Fola in training - Marmite - you either love him or hate him. Nah, Holgate's right wing, not up top - think some players are almost at a disadvantage because they've come through the youth team and are seen as squad-fillers rather than first teamers - when has Shakes shwon the promise Holgate did v Brentford? Gone a bit off the point here... Gone a bit off the point here... Agree in some points Holgates best ever first team appearance in my opinion was against Brentford then after that he has seen no first time action and been shipped out on loan where as the likes of Shakes and Brown have put in poor performance after poor performance. Anyhow as you say way off subject we have got Paul Sturrock woohoo :D Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 16:05:28 Quote from: "stfctownenda" Anyhow as you say way off subject we have got Paul Sturrock woohoo :D Get back to work you pikey! Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: fatbury on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 16:12:08 hopefully Brownlie will finally get a chance now!

Either that or we'll never see him again! Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 17:28:06 I think Brownlie is perfectly capable as a striker, it just makes nil sense playing him on the wing.
I personally think Peacock and Roberts can still do it for us this year but the service to them has been quite poor. I haven't seen Rhodes ply though so he may well be better. On the point about the youth teamers, I think that Holgate and Caton are more than capable of playing in the first team if the oppertunity arises and would like to see what Caton can do given a run in the side. Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: DV on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 18:43:51 I'm sure Sturrock got rid because he didnt think Peacock was good enough for Championship football
He's no worse than Mickey Evans and he was main man for Sturrocks side He's French He's Great He's Paul Sturrocks Mate David Friio David Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiioooooooooo Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 22:37:43 i'd be gutted to see peacock leave.
not prolific but his work-rate is immense, find him the right partner up front and it'll come good. I agree. sometimes people dont realise what you've got til its gone. People easily forget how half-arsed and lightweight the likes of cueton and thorpe were last season. I do wish he would put the ball in the net more often though :| Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 22:41:01 Quote from: "sonic youth" i'd be gutted to see peacock leave. not prolific but his work-rate is immense, find him the right partner up front and it'll come good. The fact that he wasn't in today, suggests a bit of toy throwing....he's got a good contract here and I seem to recall he arrived to keep his missus happy. But there'll only be one loser in a fallout and its not Sturrock. Title: Peacock - worrying line in presser Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 22:41:57 unless he's actually ill?
