We had beaten Stoke 2-1 away on the Saturday and I awoke on the Sunday keen to get the papers so that I could spend several hours staring at the league table. I walked to the newsagents totally oblivious that the princess of our hearts was a bloodied corpse in the back of a Merc. I purchased the paper and immediately buried my head in the sports pages. As I walked towards my house I saw an old man standing on his doorstep waiting for his paper to be delivered, he looked at me and said " terrible news isn't it? ". I looked up from the results page and replied " I'm well chuffed, it's a right result!" The look on his face resembles how I have felt reading some of the stupid overreactions on this forum.
