Try Football Director II for the commodore 64.  You can bet on your team to win or go up, it's great.  You can even change the players names to make it more realistic.  Brilliant.

If you don't change the names, watch out for Travers, he's well worth buying.

Buy football manager 07 Arriba, came out today. Has full up to date squads etc and loads of new features. Will set you back £20-£25 and if you get hooked you will play it for hours and hours and hours.

Be prepared for the backlash from your Mrs. :D

Hack into the programme, jazz up the goals/players names etc.  Great fun.  Like when you used to play "kick off" against your mates and do your own commentary - or was that just me?

Has to be football manager 2007. Unfortunately they split with eidos a few seasons back and it kind of destroyed the game in my opinion, but its still quite complex and without doubt the best one around, even if it has lost some addiction.

In what way? its exactly the same as it would have been anyway, Sports Interactive were the ones with the ideas

The layout for starters. Some of the features that never work e.g board requests for money, wages, etc Features i've never seen work, why are they there?  Football manager has obviously come on leaps and bounds and has some great features, all im saying is CM was far more addictive to me, i've found it hard to get into football manager as much as the old days.

Those features do work, must be madjeski being a cunt to you

Seriously, the STFC board gave me an extra £10m to spend after some significant moaning on my part. Unrealistic i know but the so is STFC winning the champions league :)

I've never had it work for me

Hopefully in the new one ill have a word.

Hate playing as reading in that, already seem they somehow think leroy lita is worth 4.6 million in this one, poor research worth nowhere near that.

I remember years ago i took swindon into europe before, people like frank talia in goal.

those features work for me aswell. After a lot of moaning to the board of swindon they let do the training ground and expand the stadium.

The stadium has worked before along with the training ground. But NEVER transfer funds and wages

All this talk is going to make me whip out 96/97 when I get home. Start up maybe a reading or swindon game, and see what happens.

Trever morley and martin wilLOLiams up front. :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:
