Title: IE 7
Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, October 19, 2006, 23:35:27
Reading today that an auto Microsoft update in Nov is going to whack all Internet Explorer users onto version 7.

Hope it's improved since the beta version it fucking did my head in no end.

I couldn't get used to the tabbed browsing  at the top of the screen in the beta version.  If you had more that three or four windows open you had to then scroll left and right.

Hopefully improved since then, I'll give it a whirl anyway.

I've been using the Beta version, it's pretty good apart from a few minor problems.
I like the tabbed browsing actually, I prefer it to having several windows open.

Sod IE7. Use Firefox. Tabbed browsing available for years.

Firefox is indeed the way forward.

Annoys the hell outta me that IE gets so much usage when its one of the worst browsers out there.

i have BT Broadband and that has tabbed browsing which is excellent.

And the rest. Opera did it first and that was a good four or five years ago if not more.

Yeah I'm using RC3 at home - pretty decent stuff. I'd wait for that rather than bother with IE7.

In fact ...

I'd use the release candidate for Firefox. Probably more stable than the full release of IE.

 Plus with the added bonus of not making the entire contents of your PC (including bank account details etc) available to every Russian mafioso with a teenage hacker in their employ

Nerd talk boys, nothing to see here.

I've dabbled with other browsers before but you can't beat IE6.  It's like a ropey pair of old trainers that you can't face throwing away.

Besides I'm not I'd be so keen on a wank crescent of tabs.  Much prefer windows so I can thwap back and forth between fist weekly and S-Club juniors.

There's an option to turn tabbed browsing off in Firefox. Don't know about IE because I never use it anymore.

Just got around to installing firefox 2, not much different really. Can't really beat firefox with adblock installed. Also IE Tab is pretty handy for the occasional page which doesn't quite work right in firefox. Mouse Gestures are as sexy as fuck aswell although I haven't got around to installing them onto my mum's laptop yet and it's the only tinternet machine I have at the moment.

I also just discovered that middle clicking on a link in firefox opens it up in a new tab which will save me reaching for the ctrl key. Nothing like tabbing between fist weekly and S-Club juniors.
