Title: Swindon Half Marathon
Post by: PHIL!!!! on Sunday, October 15, 2006, 14:51:01
Anyone go to this today?
I did as i went there with my college course (No we dont have college on sundays, but it was good experience for what we have to do).

You may know that Gus Poyet was there to start the race and to then hand out awards. Before he arrived though, me and a few mates got the honour of escorting Gus to the VIP area  :D
Got a couple of photograph's taken with him so will upload them, as soon as possible, but i must say, the bloke is an absolute legend. He's funny and just basically a nice person to talk to.
He was on the phone to Carlo Cudicini during some of the day, as we basically hung around with him, if you like.

Also got a bit of info on the Brezovan situation (Whether we will sign him and how long he's out for) and also got some info on the Petr Cech and Cudicini situation and also about bringing in a new keeper.

We are looking to sign Brezovan on a permanent deal although he's ruled out for 6 months by the looks of things, and according to someone else involved with STFC who i know, we're signing a Reading keeper onloan.

Possiblly, although when we asked Gus, he kept tight lipped about it, but my teacher (the sports therapist) told us straight off...

Only because they had a 10 point deduction for going into administration.....Theyve done well this season otherwise.

I saw the Reading keeper who is currently on loan at Crawley a month or so ago against Exeter.

We don't want him... He's wasn't that good at conference level and hasn't got a goalkeepers build and is frankly lightweight.
