Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 20:45:11 ...simply wasnt good enough
We didnt want it enough and it showed. The performance was lackluster and we still dont have a creative man in the team. Ours came through a bit of skill from Onibuje, we didnt look like scoring at all At the other end sloppy goal, Brezovan didnt have a single same to make. Too many sluggish players, who clearly didnt want it enough (unlike the accrington players) and again, no fucking urgency at times it looked like only Monkhouse wanted to play. He win a throw, run to the ball...pick it up look to throw it back in...no one looking, no movement then he waits for Vincent to trot up to take it and again no movement If we seriously want to get out this division (which, I suppose we dont see as we cant afford the bonuses) we have to go to places like Accrington and get 3 points. Not good enough, clearly the hardwork Wise detailed last week wasnt enough. Also, Lukas Jutkiewicz upfront please! Title: today... Post by: janaage on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 20:57:37 Sorry for being a cunt but who scored for us today?
Title: today... Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:03:33 The cock
Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:03:38 Lee Peacock
Basically, Fola skinned about 3 men with some Zidane like skill* had a shot across goal, the keeper got his hand to it only enough to push it about a yard away from him and Peacock tapped it in from 3 yards *slight exageration...maybe and...you're a cunt :D Title: today... Post by: janaage on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:05:07 Class always good to see the cock make his mark!!
and... cheers! Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:11:25 Very true...however I will let him off, because without his skill in the 2nd half we would have never got back in it....
Title: today... Post by: mr ian on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:14:15 i'll take your word for it.
Title: today... Post by: janaage on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:17:02 DV time for Wise to play??
I think so, he could get his message across whilst on the pitch and he'd be class at this level anyway. Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:20:50 Quote from: "janaage" DV time for Wise to play?? A month too late!! Quote I think so, he could get his message across whilst on the pitch and he'd be class at this level anyway. when we needed someone, a leader to stand up and take the game by the scruff of the neck there was no one. Dennis Wise would do this, he always has done in his career. On the pitch when the going gets tough, Wise doesnt hide....he gets stuck in Title: today... Post by: janaage on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:23:44 Was he even on the bench today?
I have a feeling he'll be starting within a couple of weeks Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:33:31 no wise on the bench
Nicholas Brown Shakes Roberts Evans dissapointed with the lack of extra attackers, esp the omission of Jutkiewicz Title: today... Post by: Bushey Boy on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:40:20 First post was spot on dv, that was a long drive! Were missinh teh middle man and need wise on now, havent got a midfield.
Title: today... Post by: Northern Red on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:41:21 "We need the middle man"
Ummm Paul Evans? Title: today... Post by: Bushey Boy on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:42:15 on the bench, those two with weston and caton would be a great midfield
Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:45:10 Paul Evans is a good player...but I cant see him playing turf gliding through balls for the strikers after skinning a couple of players.
as for midfield, I'd be tempted to stick Fola wide right Fola Wise Evans Monkhouse could work, although Fola is doing alright up top. Title: today... Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:47:26 i really can't see any player solving the goal scoring crisis. and if we can't get that right we are going to finish mid-table
Title: today... Post by: Northern Red on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 21:47:38 Shakes on the right - how many times
So far Ricky's missed 4 games this season and each one has been a bore draw - Wycombe, Boston, Accrington. Stop playing strikers out there - play a right winger on the right wing, and strikers go up front - it's that simple kids. Title: today... Post by: manc red on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 22:35:40 Shakes was on the train out of Accrington tonight, guess be was off to his old local from bolton days.
Was a bit confused on throw ins today why pook and weston stayed central and never showed for the ball. Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 22:37:21 no one moved for the throw ins apart from Monkhouse
Why do we not let Pook take the throw in seen as he has the longest throw (obviously not counting Nicho because he wasnt playing) Title: today... Post by: santini on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 23:00:43 What we've needed all season is right and left midfielders or full backs who can get behind the defence and pull back decent crosses.
Brownlie was missing again - not one cross. He makes Shakes look good. Monkhouse had chances but either couldn't get it past their front man or floated it too slowly into the goalie's arms or pulled it behind all the attackers. Vincent was too interested in backing off. Did he overlap once? Did he get a cross in? Jack Smith got crosses in but too early, on diagonals. Title: today... Post by: DV on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 23:03:27 agreed, after last season...something I didnt think i'd ever say but....get Nicholas in the team now!!
Title: today... Post by: cib on Saturday, October 7, 2006, 23:49:09 the throw-ins today were ridiculous, you only had 2 men showing for the ball - Peacock + (full back/winger). and even when vincent/smith had the throw they were reluctant to put it into the box.
i thought Brownlie had a shocker to be fair, hes just not there defensively. but i was impressed by monkhouse, even though the final ball wasnt great all the time. but does anyone know why that goal was disallowed and a free kick given to them? from what i saw ady was brought down by their 2 defenders?! Title: today... Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, October 8, 2006, 11:34:43 Evans looks fat again.
Title: today... Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, October 8, 2006, 11:51:48 Quote from: "Spencer_White" Evans looks fat again. I don't think he's fat, i think he's just a very thick set player. He's quite muscular, which is needed in midfield. Title: today... Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, October 8, 2006, 11:59:05 I'm glad I didn't go, otherwise I might have ended up killing myself because we're fourth in the league :?
