I work at a call centre that sells accident insurance. It's a crap job but the hours are good and the money is better! Anyway... Yesterday, I was just finishing with a sale with a customer and I get up to get a drink when a colleague and mate Tom - spins around his chair and shouts "DUDE" while handing me his headset. "He says he plays for Oxford" - Everyone who knows me is aware of my loathing of Non-League's finest. I look at the screen and it's one, Mr. Steven Basham - rubbing my hands together and plotting what to say as I take over the sale... and knowing if I say anything controversial it would be Tom blamed and not me... my boss is quick to take the headset away from me and say he didn't think it was a good idea. Heartbreak. P.S. Tom didn't get the sale! Title: Last night at work.... Work for an investment bank and Greg Shields of the Mighty Dunfermline Athletic called up. Bobby Barnes is the PFA's Assistant Chief Executive! I've never had to call them though. |
